Good signing for me we need something different at acting half and he certainly brings that as he's good at varying play. As for the two extensions, well, I find that mystifying, money is tight and there are some real priority areas for improvement so what club in that position with the current salary cap limitations carries three hookers and also has one of the best young hookers in the British game knocking on the door.

The bit about Houghton seems to say he has used his option to extend...i.e we dont have a choice. Without reading his contract we will never know!
As for Joe it may be we got him cheap as an unknown and maybe his 2nd year is a cheap wage too.

Wonder if the club are keeping their financial options open?
Seems a deliberate move from Pearson to have so many deals run out in 2023 and I can understand why, its the last year of a reduced SKY deal and who knows what the future may bring?
another reduction in SKY deal and a mooted 2 leagues of 10 format may mean less games so a smaller squad needed...and we'd be on the verge of relegation to SL2 and off to Batley next year if it was happening this season!
TBH Lovodua has only shined because the rest have being very poor. Often thought hes not a very smart player and wouldnt have lost any sleep had he not stayed.

Yes i was looking at this Seriously think Pearson is writing off next season thats why he is so quiet on the current situation. Unless we can add a really powerful second row and possibly another front row to replace Taylor who is becoming an embarrassment this team will struggle next season. I have no faith in this coach and i dont believe Pearson does either, but he has made the decision to run with him for economy reasons as he knows next seasons passholders and gates will be hugely down on numbers and if as i expect licensing comes in for 2024 then relegation will not be a threat
