Powell's done some stupid things, but he'd be mad to let a young talent like Longstaff go. - Doubt it will happen Walker would be fine, along with Litten. Will Smith, could be a really good signing, if he can be persuaded to stay for a couple of years.

I'm torn on the 4 we have signed and if to keep them.
Walker I like, but not sure we need a FB. Maybe if we could get him on a deal with Leeds paying some of his salary. Simm not seen anything to suggest he is better than we have including reserve wingers. Longstaff has potential, works hard and has an eye for a kick try, buy looks a but small and can get dominated, do we need another small young forward. Smith, looks decent, but where does he fit in, could be a waste of a quota spot.

I'd like us to find space for Walker and Longstaff. Longstaff needs to work on his defence, but he never gives up and brings plenty of energy. If we're planning for the future, these 2 should help us.
Simm I'm more undecided on. He's maybe more of a centre, but don't think we'll get chance to see him there with Swift out. He's good out of backfield but does have an error or 2 in him (could this be reduced with a move to centre?). If its a cheap deal I wouldn't be against it
Depends where we see Smith fitting in. We've got Lovodua who's played '14' this season, and has extended. Another quota utility player probably isn't our best move. But we do have a clause in out favour according to HDM
We're crying out for a 9, but doubt we'll make that move. Just hope Balmforth is used regularly next season
Of the 3 players we have on loan I would keep Longstaff. Impressed with him so far, work rate and ability of being able to get on the end of grubbers into the in goal is a good threat to have.
personally haven't seen enough of Simm to suggest he is any better then what we currently have. Makes quite a few errors and gets caught out in defence.
Walker is a tough one, good player, but with how Smith has played in the first two games I would like to think we may try to sign him up for another year.
I really think the key aspect for next season is to take the emphasis off Jake, for as good as he is he can be an easy target for some teams, I would much rather have several players making try assists then just one.
1) Hoy 3) Connor 6) Smith 7) Trueman 9) Lovodua/Balmorth
six exciting attacking threats spread across the pitch.

I’d put a 1 in front of the 3 for Jake, just give him a roaming pivotal role, he’d smash it. Very similar player to the late great Mick Crane, minus the fags.

Its a pity Longstaff is on the small side because he has pace and a rugby brain. We need a like for like in the second row for Mau,someone with size and strong defence We cant carry too many small forwards unless we move Cator on. Lets see what Simm does to us might make you change your mind

Think Longstaff is still only 20 or 21 years old so may well start to fill out naturally or could bulk up. I think he's certainly worth considering in terms of a contract as he looks to be a smart player. I agree we certainly need to have a better mix in terms of size as with Mau leaving we lack size and real grunt in the 2nd row, so i'd like to think we will look to bring in a replacement that has size, aggression and experience.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
