Really enjoyed that, surprised to see Arundel in, but he played strongly. If JWH has done his hamstring that's a disaster as he's been consistently excellent both in defence and linking up with the halves on attack. Hope the other potential injuries aren't too serious, Salty showed he can cover at fullback with Tibbbs coming in on the wing. Lost count of all the suspensions - hopefully not too far off getting Gee back. Presumably Aston won't be able to play against us next week, subject to not too many injuries from today I'd definitely fancy us for another win.

Aye, that was an excellent performance with signs of us getting back to our best and a repeat of that should be good enough to bring the points back from Sheffield. On our day there's only Leigh better than us in this division but we could do with some luck regarding injuries. Batley have been consistently good this year but I thought we were too good for them especially going forward with Jouffret pulling the strings along with a great show from Fairbank. All in all a very pleasing evening at The Shay and a big step forward to us getting that 3rd position at least. Up The Fax! :thumb:

Great team performance, obviously the 3 in 8 took its toll on Batley but regardless I was shocked how physical we looked against such a big side . ( our pack plays like a team full of Morgan smithies)Hope the injuries aren’t too bad . Across the board we were on it from minute 1 , we just need to work on our discipline as that’s what let’s teams back in the arm wrestle . Despite not scoring its noticeable how walmsey is carrying the ball out much stronger , I think another preseason with Scott under his belt he’s gonna be some player next year .

Obviously losing Woody is massive for us and hopefully Keyes just taken off as a precaution and it left us a little disjointed in the second half but in the first half lets be honest we looked like scoring every time we had the ball and the plan was clear to move the big Bulldogs pack all over the field and it was surprising how often we managed to get our forwards in one on one situations with their opposites.

In relation to the league the result has bought us the chance to likely be able to lose at least 1 game and still get 3rd place. Looking at the fixtures Sheffield is going to be a tough one and then Widnes away looks really tricky the way they are playing. Presuming Woody will miss 3 or 4 weeks that should have him back for the Fev game which I fancy our chances in. Batley won't have it easy against Barrow but you presume they should be good enough and then a tricky tie down in London who seem to have found some form before having to go to Leigh. York could still come in to it but our points difference makes it like we are 2 wins in front of them.

Agree with what the previous posters have said including Hudds
We had too much energy for a Batley side on their third outing in a week, fast attacking line speed and some crunching hits with 3 or 4 in on the tackles.

One thought about Keys, particularly after having his ankle re strapped and especially for the conversion attempts nearer the sticks and kick off's LJ or Wombat could have taken the kicks with him having a damaged foot!?

A very good win and the only negative was the injury's we picked up. Woody did not look good at all with his hamstring keyes is carrying a ankle injury which he could do with a few weeks off to get right fairbank played very well had is knee strapped and lets hope louis passes is head test. We will have garside back for friday and hopefully tibbs too and a final mention to brandon moore i did not expect him to play yesterday but credit were it is due he must of been in some pain.
