Thunder are an OK side IMHO but not as good as the score suggested when we played them on a Friday night in South London. I think we could win and it will be interesting to see what we do. A decent performance sets us up for the Workington game which is a must win, for pride if nothing else.

It’s not rocket science 11/12 players from Skolars was way too many added to the fact it was a totally new team we were bound to struggle. I don’t think Coleman pulled up trees but it’s really his role in our recruitment which would be the key factor in whether I’d criticise him. If he was given tuppence then it is what it is, although the fact that of the 4 non Skolars Uk based players- 2 left in very quick order and one has never featured that does give rise to the question of whether his judgement was sound. As for Eccles, unless he doesn’t want it or we have a flood of high calibre applicants it would seem to be a no-brainier but I assume we would need to recruit people around him...a new fitness coach and assistant.

Didn't see that coming and Newcastle discovering that more than a full time squad is needed to do well in this division.....sort of like we discovered in 2015.
I am loathe to get too giddy though ....mid table obscurity is what Loubser will use as a defense for this indefensible season...if we get 2k next week (should be 3k) hell bang his drum that the move has worked.
