Not the strongest but in fairness not that bad. Carlos is a bit of a worry though.

Probably use the quota spot to replace Ma'u or if Houghton retires or not retained a hooker. If Smith proves his worth and wants to stay he could be an option but I'd rather see a specialist hooker rather than a utility player.

Jones was in principle a great signing, he'd been excellent at Salford. Unfortunately it didn't work out and that wasn't down to the club.

I imagine if you go back on this board to when Johnstone's signing was announced most people would have been quite happy - a promising up and coming hooker to spell Houghton. Again, it didn't work out although this time you have to question the length of the contract. It should have been a twelve month or two years at most. Hopefully lessons have been learnt.

Depending on the plans with Will Smith (he might want to play NRL) I wouldn't be against a one year contract for Gale especially given our injury woes this season. We won't see Trueman until Easter and Connor has had two bad injuries in two years. Reduced terms for Gale and have him on the coaching staff would be OK with me.

Christ I didn't realise he would be out for that long.

TBF that is the worst case scenario, hopefully available sooner although he won't have played for months and lets bear in mind what happened with Cator.
