A second rower in the mould of Ma’u for me.
Think we are well covered at centre with Carlos, Wynne, Mitch, Jake, Griffin and Scott ( if they are still here next season ) and Sutcliffe who is still strongly rumored to be signing.

If Smith performs then he stays for me.

Then we look for a non fed backrower, someone like Julian or keep our eye on the championship and look for a Halton.

If not we need to sign Longstaff and hope Savelio has an injury free season.

Other option is to play Sao there, as have plenty of options at prop.

Depends what happens with Smith I suppose.

It's all hypothetical but if we sign Sutcliffe does he play centre? Or do we stick with Wynne?

Ideally I'd like us to keep Longstaff, but totally get that Manu leaves a big hole that needs filling.

What I really want is a 9 I don't know enough about Balmforth, if he'll be ready next season? Or do we sign some for a season or 2, to introduce him like we've done with Jack Brown. Lovodua hasn't been given a fair crack either

That's a worry for me. Rate him really highly but with his injury record we could be a bit light at SR.

For me best case scenario is Sutcliffe and Longstaff augmented with a quota SR. As I have said (guessed) earlier we should have a decent amount of cap to play with.

Think it's too late, but do we keep Lovodua if he isn't going to play 9, if Smith stays, who I'm sure will be a better utility player, do we need Lovodua?

If Lovodua doesn't play 9, do we use him at 13 or SR?

I'd only consider Smith as an impact 9 if we don't retain Lovodua. I would have thought Lovodua's contract extension would have been announced by now.

Sutcliffe's best position is centre who can fill in at back row in case of injuries.

I would agree with that but if Lovodua has been kept on I don't think Smith is needed. Don't need 2 utility quota players.
