..from the infamous "consultation" and 9 home games into our BRAVE NEW DAWN.

This is a quote taken from the club email explaining their plans for the 2022 season.......

Quote:The group were reassured that whilst the playing staff would become part time players this was not a reflection of the club resigning itself to Championship Rugby League and the focus was now very much on marketing the move to Plough Lane and ensuring that we maximize the potential of that new beginning.

This led to further questions on the move to Plough Lane, how the club plans to build the average attendance, community engagement and memberships. It was explained by James Milner that the focus will be a milt-pronged attack on several groups including, but not exclusively, Families, community club partners, AFC Wimbledon Fans and the event seeker. It was explained that making elite sport affordable to families in London was a key part of the plan with attention going on family season tickets in our Community section which will contain a no-alcohol zone. This will also hopefully give those who prefer not to be around Alcohol an opportunity to enjoy the game in separate surroundings.

Positive discussions have already started with our community club partners around their involvement in the Community stand, playing curtain raisers and being mascots ahead of First Team Games and their feedback has been very good.

It was explained that several Home fixtures will be planned as ‘events’ with specific target markets being catered for to try and attract new supporters via a ‘side door’ and other reasons to attend the game such as live music, a ‘theme’ around matches such as an ‘80’s music event’ or Street Food/Real Ale festival.

My question is.......WHAT HAPPENED?
My next question is ....WHO IS TO BLAME FOR NONE OF THIS HAPPENING
and finally........WHEN ARE THEY GETTING FIRED?

For far too long Hughes has accepted failure and failed to make the hard decisions. Reading the old threads about this consultation and the one about the announcement of Season Ticket prices late last year, It was obvious that Milner hadn't a clue what he was doing and Loubser was flailing about, with both of them guilty of having mis-sold this move to Hughes. Hughes himself is as guilty for being YET AGAIN taken in as to why fans don't come to games......

....as much as some seem happy to accept 2022 with a sigh of relief now we are safe, it is a harsh reality that we have shed fans and a further away from SL than we were 12 months ago. Zero effort has been made to make this new start work and as predicted, they SIMPLE EXPECTED PEOPLE TO ROCK UP.
If IMG are indeed insisting on a London club, then I can only hope that the only reason they're looking at London Broncos is to discover not how to do it.

My question is what is a ‘milt pronged attack’? and can we all agree it was a load of old pony!

And it should be said we’ve done next to none of the things we said we would. So that’s all good.

We still have 4 home games left

Looking forward to the 80's music vs Leigh, and the street food vendors back at the Batley game, real ale when Worky come to town, and David Huhges going gangham style with the rebranded cowgirls at the barrow game

Don't think any of us are happy to accept 2022, its been a disaster. The only relief is that I don't believe we would have a 2023 if we got relegated, so at least we should have some form of club next year

For me biggest disappointment has to be when I was finally able to get to PL with my Dad (Dewsbury match), the Match day experience was worse than at Ealing (outside of last season which was covid stricken), food / drink options was abysmal for a veggie (all they had was a pie, no chips, no veggie burgers), no pre-game entertainment, no mascots, stadium 95% empty, no program.

Hopefully Batley which we are planning to attend, will be a step up, but not holding my breath here

1. 80's themed game is a cracking Idea.....
2. Street food....offer free pitches to all vendors
3. Real Ale. ....free pitches to local breweries
4. Get Dave down to https://www.ultimate-cheer.co.uk/ based 5kms from the ground

Combine this with an open shop, after match presentations for ALL, a Band, Half time on pitch shenanigans, and Buck and Dusty.....and then ASK THE AUDIENCE WHAT THEY THOUGHT BY EMAIL THE FOLOWING DAY.
100% You'll hear it was brilliant......
It really isn't brain science or Rocket surgery.

10 months on and the only conclusion I can draw is we should have stayed at Ealing

Rise like Lions after slumber

Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you--
Ye are many -- they are few.'

Percy Bysshe Shelley - 'The Mask of Anarchy'

I believe most sane people could see that when the move was first mentioned and the rest as soon as it was announced we would be Part time.
A competitive side is a real boost when trying to increase crowds, but a competitive side is VITAL when arriving at a new home and trying to increase crowds. The almost INSTANT discounting of tickets for both Kids and Corporates showed the Club realised their error almost immediately.......at that stage, Loubser should have been on the blower to Trailfinders BEGGING them to have us back from 2023 onwards.
But. This is David Hughes. He will never admit he got it wrong, so I suspect we will be back at Plough lane in 2023 with a sub 1,000 average and a mid table side, with the same CEO, the same peppercorn back office staff and the same blasé attitude towards both fans and their opinions.

The harsh truth is they asked our opinion last September and didn't like what they heard, so ignored it as "they knew better".

Well they didn't and us "dozen old moaners" on the internet were right.......The Move was wrong, the coach was wrong, the squad was lightweight and we to a man predicted that the club would do what they did when we moved to The Stoop, Charlton, Brentford, The Stoop, The Hive & Trailfinders.......EXPECT FANS TO JUST TURN UP :BEAT: :BEAT: :BEAT:
