There has never seemed to be any real planning or action for the long term it always seems to reactive and all last minute instead of proactive. Reminds me of the BIHA in Ice Hockey after Heineken pulled out the sport in the mid 90's and went from being fairly organised and run to a bit of a shambles with changes being made to the game and league structures every year without any thought on or impact these would have good or bad on the game.
What Pearson seems to forget is when you have a long term strategy of trying to produce future players for the club from the reserves and academy you cant do it without a strong first team squad. You are not suddenly going to have five or six home grown players making up the first team and expecting them to compete at senior level from day one.Its a drip feed situation.
He also seems to have forgotten that its a successful first team that brings in most of the clubs revenue.
Go into next season with just Hoy and Trueman would be a disaster in terms of pass and gate revenue.
Your talk wont cut it anymore Adam. You need to offload some senior players(and we all know who)and bring in at least two big name forwards to create some excitement for next season otherwise the club is dead in the water
