I get it will take time, and in the long term it probably will benefit the club. But this is a results business, can this club afford to have years of further decline, both on and off the pitch?
For me, there is a clear missing link in the hierarchy between coach and owner, we are desperate for a 'Head of Football' in my opinion, a fresh face to take the burden off James Brett and Adam. I do not doubt the hard work they put in, but for me it could be as simple as brining in someone who really knows what they are doing.
it depends which Aussies you bring in.In our case you have to admit that Hodgsons recruitment is shockingly poor.
What we need is a no nonsense disciplinarian coach who knows what he is doing.
Without some quality overseas players especially now in the forwards the club is doomed to fail because the gap between what the club consider to be potential in our younger players and first team football is too large and will take two or three seasons to see them mature.
Its also uncertain just how many will actually come through and make the grade.
Rugby union is an area we should now be seriously looking at.Not the big earners but some of the fringe guys.
Its a different game now, forwards are mobile and much fitter than in the past and you see a lot of pace in the backs.
