Got a bit of time to spare waiting for the dreaded MOT so i thought I’d get everyone’s opinion on who is there best 17 , with injuries and suspensions we’ve never been able to field a lot of the new signings together, so here goes

1 woodburn hall ( one of the best fb’s in the league)

2 Walmsey ( got better and better with bags of pace and great finishing)

3 worthington ( just pipps arundal who even though as scored a few tries just lacks that aggression I like )

4 tibbs ( really improved this season, still a bit suspect in defence but a pacey threat in attack)

5 Saltonstall ( always gives 100% and makes good yards from the back )

6 Jouffret ( bags of creativity and pace and solid defensively, perhaps needs to improve on his kicking game )

7 Keyes ( star man this season)

8 Calcott ( solid prop who’s improved with game time , very few errors and penalties)

9 Moore ( exemplary performances in attack and defence)

10 Murray ( possibly the biggest improvement from last season, does all the small things and his support play as grabbed him a few tries )

11 Kavanagh ( great season, good relationship with Keyes and made some great breaks and tackles )

12 Gee ( only played a few but looks a player in attack and defence)

13 fairbank ( some big hits great offloads and gives 100%)

14 wood ( tbh I’ve been a bit disappointed with wood and much preferred bourouh from last year , he’s been ok)

15 Gwaze ( had a purple patch in the middle part but perhaps dropped of a bit performance wise in his last couple)

16 Tangata ( slow start but really starting to pick up now )

17 Knowles ( maybe controversial as he’s only played a couple of mins but I saw enough in pre season to know he’s my type of player)

Can't argue with any of that really. I think Woody is the best FB in the league, I wouldn't have any other FB in the league over him simply for the excitement he brings to the pitch. Tibbs I'd also have over Arundel, Ive not really been impressed, he is solid no doubt but that's all we have seen from him. Tibbs again not the best in defence but looks really good with ball in hand. Calcott I have always liked and never though he got the game time he deserved. Gee looks quality from what we have seen and agree about Knowles, I think he is an upgrade on Fairbank.

Question is where do we improve to get us to contenders next season? Personally I think 4, 5, 13, 14 would be the positions from the team above that I would look to improve.

I suppose it depends who re-signs but I agree the positions you’ve mentioned could be upgraded, problem is both wood and arundal are on two year deals and they haven’t necessarily done anything wrong but have been a bit underwhelming, I also think they’re linked through one of the sponsors and plumbing and electrician apprenticeships. Then there’s salty who was player of the year last year and obviously a fans favourite, probably lacks half a yard of pace but carries the ball out well. Same applies to fairbank who has played well and also a fans favourite.

I wonder if kavs got another season in him , knocking on a bit now but has been one of our most consistent performers this year.

I agree with pretty much what as already been said for our strongest team and being underwhelmed with wood and arundel i like the look of parrata at london sorry for the spelling but like as been said both wood and arundel are contracted for next year and so is aston will he be here next year . For next season i would like better quality competition for woody in the fullback spot because he never looks far from is next injury and if possible get rid of wood and arundel so a new hooker and Centre and a prop and backrow will do i don't ask for much do i.
