And for this, Hughes must take the blame, not the players or (at least current) coach. We got what we deserved at the start of the season. Under resourced and under prepared.

Gus Mackay we salute you!!

...and remember.

We turned a corner after shop boy shuffled off back to Hull......Hughes and Loubser appointed that slime as well as moving us (when not needed) and cutting the sides funding to spend on 3rd tier RU & 6th tier football ground rental after coming out earlier in the season and saying.....
HUGHES
Quote:Yes, we could play at a second or third tier Rugby Union venue but what is the long term option for that? We could have played at a
Quote:non-league football club
in recent years with the low numbers coming through the gates due to a mixture of Covid and poor displays on the field. But once again, where do we go from there in 5 years time?

Yet inside 6 months we've done both, with the ladies, reserves and academy at Union and the 1st team at a Non-league football ground.
LOUBSER
Quote:Many questions have been asked concerning our move, which we understand.

First and foremost, we want to provide our loyal supporters with the best matchday experience possible, and we strongly believe the Cherry Red Records Stadium is our solution.

Yet after 9 home games (2 not at home), the Match Dy experience is non existent, with NOTHING on offer other than the dross on the park and an alien shirt?

You'd think a club that's moved as often as us would stop making the same fu890ng mistakes, but hey, WE ARE LONDON :DEPRESSED:

Great to see 'most' of you guys upbeat again. Long may it continue (barring early September of course :) )

All the new players made a huge difference, a shame they didn't play earlier in the season. In these days of recycling I was impressed with most of the new players wearing the same shirts as the departed players.

My Man of the Match was the new half back (Number 5). He even popped up on the Left Wing a couple of times to score. On one occasion in the first half he was out on the left and decided he fancied a go on the right wing. He carried the ball with him as the Halifax defenders failed to get a hand on him until he'd nearly reached his new chosen position. He was enjoying himself and very influential regardless of the tries.

When do the Play-Offs start, need to make sure I'm free to watch this new team in the post season?

Yes at the start of the season, and with due respect, Macani was an irrelevance. He wasn’t the only one it has to be said but I couldn’t for the life of me see the point of him. He suddenly sprung to life a few games back and has been a consistent threat ever since which is good for him and good for us. He along with quite a few including Walker and Leyland, Ulberg and perhaps Situ do seem to have clicked. It’s especially surprising as he was clearly a Coleman pick and yet it’s only when he left that he stepped up.

Not sure on target for an 11th place finish is a great advert for our bulldog management’s brave new part time dawn of top quality northern RL players/part time builders flooding to sunny South London aided by streams of highly prized Aussies but at least there is some hope. Not sure this forum will be happy place post our home game against you guys but you never know.

I think getting passed them is a big ask. I’ll take us winning a couple more home games and then building for next season much, much more effectively than this year. Some non-playing staff in post would be a good thing.

I agree its a big ask, but last thing we need is them switching off thinking they are safe, and dewsbury suddenly getting on a run... Got to have at least something to aim for last 7 games

Agreed. I think I’m right in saying that none of them are playing for their contract. They are either on a 2 or have come over for a year to facilitate playing at the World Cup. My take is after a miserable season they are finally enjoying it and just like when non professionals turn out for the love of the game down the RL equivalent of Hackney Marshes it’s really now just about enjoying the game and playing with mates. My prediction is we’ll win 3- Haven, Workington and Newcastle. I say this because in my humble opinion Haven and Newcastle were quite poor sides and both turned us over at home, Newcastle spanked us. Pride dictates we give them some of that back. As for Town - I assume they are bottom place for a reason. we’ll see.

Watch the Highlights of out game up there to see where they got their only 2 points. :D
In my first year as a Broncos fan Halifax won only once before going down.....that was at Griffin Park.
I'll take a win at Bash and then worry about the next game....1 gamer at a time seems to be the way the boys are approaching it and it's working!
