Every player we sign deserves to be given a chance to show what they can do although many on here are ready to dish them before they've even arrived. Some of our recent signings are really encouraging and I think it shows the way that BH wants to take the team. Just one or two of the old guard to move on and I think (and hope) that better things are on the way.
I welcome every signing we make heartily and can’t understand why some on here ALWAYS have reservations. Grumpy young, middle aged and old men, tv show there somewhere. You got the last sentence right, this is Hull FC, there’s always better things on the way. Jam tomorrow. I’d like Walker to sign and play fullback. Trueman and Hoy in the halves, Lovodua at hooker and Jake at loose man, what a spine.
I'm tempering expectations until I see how he goes and integrates into the team, we need to understand that just because he's Australian it doesn't mean to say he's going to be a world beater. We only have to look at Jacob Miller to see how unfairly high expectations were set for him at Hull. I'm glad Tex is young, keen to impress and I'm pleased in the direction the club are going. I do welcome this signing and will look forward to seeing him in the black and white.

Admittedly in different times, but great players have managed similar roles with great success, Tommy Martin, Tony Myler, John Woods, even the formidable Sir Kev could seamlessly play six or 13, with minimal disruption, so Connor at 13 is an option for us, and such a potent attacking threat would scare the living daylights coming from behind the pack.
Problem is for me we signed that many off halves come fullbacks, haven’t we overlooked the scrum half position, presuming Gale is going, or do any of these new chaps play scrum half, is it even a requirement anymore, some really good potential progression for the future, quite exciting times.
Think both halves are merely 'pivots' - right or left, working the scrum not really part of the game now.
Just can't see Jake at loose forward ???? We know he won't make the hard yards when needed, defensively anywhere near the middle he will draw heavy fire, largely negating his attack. I see him as a 6 ( or pivot ), think his lack of pace at full back now too much of an issue. Hoy & Walker both have much more pace than him. Do hope he stays around though, he is currently about 90% of our attack.
