If anyone can develop a slight young lad with skinny legs who already has the requisite skills into an excellent fullback- ermmmmm a top class slight full back with skinny legs Brett hodgson certainly can!
What made Leeds an excellent side was their exceptional homegrown talent, yes there was a particular golden era but regardless the club seems to be moving away from this and it can only be of detriment I feel.
Look at how doing that has worked out, your biggest names in tetevano and sezer have been absolute duds.
Golding meanwhile has been great at Huddersfield, he’s come off the bench and played at fullback, wing, centre, second row LF and hooker for us, it’s like having several extra players on the bench. Played with a smile on his face and brings energy and enthusiasm.

Golding is enthusiastic , but plays all over the place as he is not good enough to take any spot on a regular basis

What’s with the flurry of Huddersfield fans in here?

Anyway to say we are moving away from youth is incorrect, we’ve got a decent crop of youngsters coming through.

Walker hasn’t developed as yet because he has always been injured, I hope he can kick on and fulfil his potential it might still be with us but it’s looking unlikely

Keep telling yourself that. I’d say he’s improved massively under Watson. You say he’s not good enough but he is good enough to be picked to play in one of those positions in a top three team most weeks by one of the best coaches in the competition :!:
He’s played 14 rounds and has the highest stats for distance covered and intensity in the league so he’s doing something right.

With many teams going for 60-80 minute hookers it’s a waste putting another out and out hooker on the bench. Having golding on our bench means if we have an injury to any single player we are instantly covered. Either golding steps straight in 1-5 or 9, 11-13 or an injury in the halves tui switches there and golding goes to FB. The props are already covered anyway. That kind of value is immense in terms of continuity and doing what our team trains to do.

They're mostly here hoping to find people criticising Sezer I think. Unfortunately for them he's not really considered a "dud" at all so we can't scratch that bitter itch for them.

As for why Walker hasn't kicked on. Well we all know why and it's all to do with him barely playing for the past few years, nothing else.

"Brian McDermott, with a wry smile, nods when asked if he remembers a specific incident which made him realise he was a prick. 'I do', he murmurs."

For the sake of the game I've always wanted Huddersfield to do well and increase their sparse fan base, so I'm glad you're having one of your good years. Thought you should have won the cup and I hope you can avoid exiting the play offs with a whimper. That said I do find your posts a teeny bit boastful, especially when there is so little of substance to boast of. Don't recall you banging the drum last year when Watson was struggling to scrape a win. Leeds have been in serious decline since 2016 but even during the spiral we've managed to put two pots on the sideboard. Nothing to brag about, so I won't.

Sorry Jools that 60 minute hooker made me laugh, this old rhymes came to mind.

She offered her honour, He honoured her offer, and all night long he was honour and offer.

Sorry for derailing. :D

There’s still a very good player in there but he’s currently third in the pecking order so maybe a move is the best thing for him, he seems like a really nice guy snd he deserves a bit of luck on thr injury front.

I hope he goes well for FC, we simply can’t keep all the players in a salary capped sport

So in two years we will be looking for a FB - both Myler/Hardaker are in decline yet we take a short term view on a very talented player. What does it say that we would prefer a serial offender to a high quality home grown player?

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

It says that at this point in time he is 3rd choice in that position.

Don't forget he is only on Loan and may well come back - Jack has had an absolute nightmare with injuries and you can bet your bottom dollar if we let Hardaker go to keep Jack and he gets another injury this board would be saying why have we kept him.

Also its not just about us, Jack wants to be playing he's not going to stay around being back up for two years or even for the rest of this year, and unfortunately for Jack Hardaker and Myler right now are playing better than him

How can you tell - he has only played one game and that game he looked a lot better than anything Hardaker has shown since his return. Are we turning into Warrington - in the past we have always backed our younger players and that proved very successful why has the policy changed?

Hardaker has been pretty good.

We have also let a lot of young players go, even Jack himself forced Golding out of his position and had to move on.

Jack has looked ok in the few games he’s played this year but then was injured, again.

Turning into Warrington? Just look at the young players we do have in the squad, we’re hardly shunning home grown players in a big way.

Hull only have until next week to trigger the option of signing him thst might not happen and he is still a Leeds player. The big question for Jack is can he stay fit for any length of time, he simply hasn’t managed that in 3 or more years for us. I hope for his sake he can.
