Think he puts too much energy into trying to put big hits on every tackle. Sprints out the line and the if he misses he has to turn and run 20 metres back, before turning again to defend the next tackle. Needs to calm down a bit in my opinion But he looked better carrying the ball today.

Blimey O’Reilly how did we manage to come away with that other than thanks to Cootes pretty poor kicking and a dubious call by the VR (though technically could be considered a knock on as lost control and seemed to hit Longstaffs hand. Thought Walker and Longstaff were great today and Simm showed up well along with Laidlaw who didn’t look out of place at all.
Defence very ropey but to be fair was going to be iffy with so many debutants and such a short time to prep with them. That’s said still come up with basic and unforced errors and were our own worst enemy.
Still I’ll take the win and hopefully much improvement next week but need to stop gifting opposition a way back into games.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
Definitely take that but what a roller-coaster eh.
Liking the 3 new lads brought slot of youthful enthusiasm, as did Laidlow off the bench, took 3 carries in about 7 minutes.
The bit I'm struggling with is the lethargy of some seniors which is still evident. Il be very intrigued when we have body's back what the lineups are, I hope he keeps Laidlow around the squad but suspect he won't.
Gale amazing with the boot, looked a lot more threatening attacking which was good to see. Simms and Walker have some good pace made us more of a threat.
Hopefully the 3 loanees keep it going and we sign them all look very handy players on that showing. Big 2 points

Laidlaw will naturally drop out of the 17 when all players are back but based on today it would be unfair to not keep him in the 21 each week. Great debut and would love to see more of him this year.
Well done boys good to see us dig deep after last week, that was more of the gale that we saw at Leeds hopefully build on his own personal performance now. Much better from joey today too

Gale, apart from that silly penalty, was really good too. Lovadua never stopped running. That halfback pairing could work if they build off that.
Tell me though what was the point bringing of bringing Hookem on for three minutes at the end?
