I worried that he would soften up when the club saw what he was writing but no one can complain because its the absolute truth as far as the fans who really care are concerned. I hope those that 'the cap fits' read it and realise that it is not Dan speaking for himself but him just mirroring what all us lot are thinking, seeing and saying.

It was evident that the Tomlinson effect had made an impression on Brett Hodgson if you watch the Hodgson Leeds pre match interview.
Normally Hodson greets the interviewer with first name and the usual how are you.
Mike white Radio humberside up first
How are you Brett fine Mike how are you
Next up Dan Tomlinson
Hi Brett how are you
Fine

says it all

Sadly it's what some of us have been seeing coming for abit, some players just decline or lose motivation, unfortunately for us it's the homegrown hero's who won back to back challenge cups, that was their apex.

Yes we've got injurys, but you expect some pride and leadership and abit of mongrel off the ones named. Sadly they chuck the towel in when the going gets tough.

I'm glad Dan's been brave and called a spade a spade, itl put indirect pressure on Hodgson to address the issue, I got mocked for saying that after his last article too. But as someone's stated he's echoing the fans opinion now (well those of us whi can spot these things) , and I think Pearson once he knows the fans know, us who buy passes and shirts, something has to be done............

Whilst I wouldn't disagree with a lot of your opinions, players whoever they are have a shelf life, and with the salary cap system and contract commitments the real clever part is knowing when and who to sign and release. I’ve stated many times the signature of Reynolds was an error which is unforgivable, a really bad knee jerk decision which has come back to haunt us, the acquisition of Luke Gale is of similar proportions, two really bad decisions.

Are we not losing sight that we are unfortunately a one man team, without Jake our complete system has collapsed, everyone is getting blamed for a plan from our coach which isn’t working, we have no plan b, do saints collapse without Coote, do Wigan die without Field, or French.

Dans damming article on the deficiencies of our team are all well and good, and his defence of Hodgson is nailing his colours to the mast, but in my humble opinion, Hull have once again made the classic error of appointing a coach with no real tangible experience, who for me, although appointed in very difficult circumstances has not ever had that desired effect on his team, I was at the early victory at Wakey, and from the off that fire hasn’t been lit, it’s all well and good chucking the baby out with the bath water, but for me recruiting, retention, and performance has to stop with Brett.

Hopefully the fantastic development of our youth training facilities and pathways will bring fruition in the future, and stop this absolute madness chasing Australian half backs to enter a now meaningless season, to plug the gaps from ludicrous old men signings.

Pretty much agree with you both on the points you state. The club is sadly in a real mess and ultimately that comes down to AP, he appointed Clark from his Media/marketing role to CEO and seems to be involved in aspects of the club that he has no real experience of background in such as player recruitment. We then had the Radford situation in which he kept him on far longer than he should have done instead of making the change far earlier to build on the progress made instead of then going backwards again. The contract extensions to certain players even a player who whilst they've been a greats servant openly admitted in an interview they had fallen out of love with the game. Then when we needed to appoint a no nonsense coach with a proven track record and one that wouldn't stand for the poor attitude of a select group of players we appointed another inexperienced one, nice guy he maybe but he seems a soft touch.
Since the departure of Motu our recruitment and retention has been poor and we haven't learnt from that by appointing someone more qualified in that role. I wonder if AP in trying so many things to get the solution is now lost as to what to do and now can't see the forest for the trees so to speak.
If Hodgson is to stand any chance of taking the club forward he has to drop certain players immediately even with the injuries and suspensions to get the message out that the poor attitude shown on Saturday is not and will not be tolerated. I also think its a must to show the supporters that he nor the club will allow the players to sit in a cosy club without any repercussion by holding them to account for that poop show as it was beyond rotten. The silence from players after the Leeds game is deafening in showing they take no responsibility as the least they could have done is apologised for the pi5s poor attempt and wasting everyones time and money that turned up on Saturday.

Yes we all have bad days at the office and sometimes things go wrong but there's a pattern and has been with the club for far too long and certain players who have been at the club a long time are embedded in that so need to cut the rot out and now.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
