Good read. Nice to see a sensible well thought out piece.

I think its all the recent years of promise and then disappointment that is a big cause of the fans impatience.
I know rationally there are lots of good reasons for the current state of play but its hard to shake off the feeling of "Here we go again"

That for me is the nail on the head, for far too long we have been promised jam tomorrow and whilst nothing is ever guaranteed we have fallen short once too often and the seasons always seem to follow a similar pattern in which we fall away, so not sure its impatience as we've been waiting for long enough. I feel quite disillusioned not just with Hull FC but the whole game itself, now whether that's in part down to the lockdown (or the lack of the Dentist Diary these days  ) etc I don't know but think the game has lost something along the way.

It always seems to be the same issues blighting us and then the same tired excuses as to why we are still way behind the likes of St's etc. Its not like we have expected things to change overnight but think enough years have gone by now to have moved forward but its deja vue and same old poop just a different season. The only real positive this season is the acquisition of Riding and Shenton who seem to be doing a great job with the young players youth side of things.

We still lack quality in the halves which seems to be an eternal issue for this club, don't appear to have much in the way of attacking structures and once again look bereft of any idea on how to get over the line when Connor isn't in the 17 other trying to barge over the line as we've lost the Sneyd kick to the corner option.

Maybe I'm just getting old and being pessimistic or both but the club in general just seems a mess as very little communication comes out of the club these days either which is something that needs rectifying as many fans feel cut off from the club nowadays.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

we seem incapable of finding young local halfs.when we signed sneyd in 2015,whatever his faults ,it was the first time for a few years we had a number 7.very rarely injured or in trouble with the disciplinary.from 2015 till 2021 we had a settled scrum half, during those 6 years it gave us the perfect time to gradually groom a young number 7 to take over when sneyd departed.2021 sneyd leaves.have we groomed a young local number 7?.no we sign a well past his best 33 year old .says it all for me.i cant remember last time we had a local scrum who held the position for any length of time.probably phil windley from the 1990s.

Horne or Cooke where the last ones we had, think it's a problem within the UK game.

Same could be said for hooker too. Houghton has been our first choice hooker since Berrigan?

Could have had Litten, but Radford messed that up.
