Be great if we can get him in soon. And letting Broadbent and Mellor go suggests that's possible. But I'd be surprised if Toulouse let him go early - they've got an albeit slim chance of staying up.

Yeah. Can't see Toulouse getting rid while there is still hope. Mulhern seems to have had his card marked at Wire, so might not be beyond the realms.

Is it realistic to have those two as props 5 & 6? They may want more regular game time given their respective ages and where they are in development terms. I like Prior but I wouldn’t be disappointed if he finished up at the end of the year. I would be all in for Taupau if that happened and get him here for a couple of years. He is an upgrade on prior for me, he has more size. That would give us mik and Taupau starting and Tetevano and Holroyd from the bench with sangare and mullhurn if we could get them. That is a nice prop rotation for me and allows you to go big if required, putting Zane at 13 or loading up with three props on the bench. We will likely try and retain Martin but I would say an area to improve is getting a bigger and more destructive back rower from the NRL. I don’t think Martin suits what we need from that position given we have Smith at 13.

Tapau would be an awful signing. He is not a naturally big guy - he generates power through aggression. If you watch Manly games you'd see his form has really fallen off a cliff in the past couple of years. We certainly wouldn't be getting the star player he was a few years ago but we'd be paying through the nose. I'd far rather we get another Ava.
While likely much cheaper is Mulhern really worth a shot? Again looking at him he's just not that big. Looked completely ineffective for Wire against us recently.
I would have thought that with the props we do have we lack size pure and simple. More 'middle-esque' forwards will leave us exposed again to teams with bigger forwards.

Mik and Tommy as 2 of the first 4 meaning that we would need for to replace Prior & Tet should they leave.
I can't see either Tet or Prior leaving while still contracted. If we strengthen our front row I reckon we will see Prior form improve if we can lighten his work load.Tet has been a disappointment looks more a backrower than a prop.
