Obviously Balmforths 2nd try is the most eye catching try but his ruck manipulation to set up Laidlaw is the kind of skill which will transfer over to 1st grade.

Is it legal for a hooker to pretend to go one way and then go the other? Seems like cheating to me. I mean, if it was allowed then wouldn't our other hookers do it?

With the way things are going, a few more of this group will be in the first team soon.
Who are the halves in the academy team currently? Next week I'd expect we start with Lovodua and Hookem in the halves, with Balmforth on the bench to interchange with Houghton. Who's the next cab off the rank for a pivot place?
Intrigued to see the likes of Staveley, Severs and Balmforth in the first team soon hopefully, feel it's the right time now to add some fresh impetus and the energy that a young player with something to prove has to offer. Enthusiasm will go a long way in the eyes of the fans right now.
Well done to the SEVEN Hull FC players in the starting line up for Yorkshire Academy v Lancashire Academy tomorrow. Manoa Wacokecoke, Lewis Martin, Sully Medford, Matty Laidlaw, Denive Balmforth, Nick Staveley and Charlie Severs.

Sully Medforth is playing 6 for Yorkshire tomorrow. He's only 17 so it will be a while before we see him near the first team. He's looked decent when I've seen him but I've no idea if he will make it at this point.
