Sometimes certain players got certain teams at certain times. I didnt think Konnie was right for us when we let him go. But that didn’t mean I didn’t rate him, just I didn’t think the current squad could cover his flaws.

Only teams with outstanding defence can cover his flaws so I think Saints fits him

His celebrations at the end were class! No hard feelings for Hurrell from me, or about him leaving Leeds. It was one of those things that worked out for the best for both parties (well, apart from the times we played against Saints).

Please enlighten me to how it turned out best for Leeds? you had Sutcliffe and That lad who should be in Jail playing centre last night.

It's no secret that Hurrell was struggling in his last season for Leeds. A new environment (inc. being part of a better team) and coach benefited him hugely. Leeds also benefited from removing a marquee player from the roster, allowing us to bring in players in positions of greater priority. Arguably Hurrell would also have done well under Smith, but we're quite happy with our centre options when everyone is fit (depending on who we get to replace Sutcliffe). Hurrell on marquee money at Leeds made no sense when he wasnt even our first choice centre.

Hurrell is a hit-and-miss player who a team like Leeds could no longer afford to carry. Very simple. He's continued in the same vein at St Helens, lots of good stuff and lots of errors and defensive indiscipline. Stick him in that Leeds team last night and they would have lost by more.
