It'd be better to play a couple of tests vs France IMO. At least we'd be playing a bona fide opposition rather than some "back of a fag packet" side that's been cobbled together at the last minute like a pub team.

The England squad is short of quality and depth - hence the inclusion of various Warrington players and a few of Wane's old favourites. I fear it'll be 1982 all over again at the World Cup so the more chance to try and build a bit of understanding the better.

Interesting to see Leeming say Wane had given him some very specific feedback about what he needed to improve. Namely his defence. I agree with that 100% and was really happy to read that Leeming accepted it and resolved to improve.
