Stats dont tell the full story of the effects of the indiscipline.
If you watch this team they have a habit of finishing the last tackle in the opposition ten or twenty then on the first play give away a penalty which relieves any pressure we could have put on them.
Then following the kick to touch we usually double up with a six again and another set or two defending our own line.
Several have commented that the team is unfit, but its the weight of defending we have to do brought about by the teams indiscipline, whilst the opposition are relatively fresh as we have not put them under any pressure on their line either by finishing the set with a kick into the in goal forcing a drop out or forcing them to kick from deep through good disciplined defence.
Of course you would know that
If you take up the coaching roll when you’ve forced Hodgson out, I won’t renew my pass.
I don't always agree with what Bonaire posts but you can't argue that the issues/points raised in his posts don't hold merit. It seems that if his view/opinion differs to some who are quite happy to sit and watch more of the same he gets a lot of stick from certain posters and its tiring.
1. Catalans first try came from our mistake the pass from Carlos to Mau in good field position, we then gave away a needless penalty and followed that up with a 6 again with the end result try to Catalan
2. Gave away another penalty in front of the posts result 2 more pts to Catalan
3. Once again in decent field position but we kick so early in the set no one is ready or aware and hand over the ball easily, we then give away yet another penalty on the back of giving away cheap ball result another try to Catalan
4. Next try from the restart due to really poor unorganised defence and a number of missed tackles
5. We score then make a mistake straight after the restart by knocking on in our own half leading to another try to Catalan
6. Again we make another mistake knocking on allowing Catalan an easy score again
7. Catalans final score we had either given up by then or just ran out of gas from all the work in defence they'd given themselves to do from errors.
We have a bad habit of when in good field position we give the ball away cheaply then add to that by giving away a penalty resulting in the opposition getting gifted easy metres and an invite in to our 20M. How many times this season have we actually had any sort of short kicking game to build or keep pressure on opponents by getting repeat sets from smart kicks in to the touch in goal area? Very rarely we more often than not give the ball up cheaply then give away a daft penalty or restart for good measure.
Like I say I don't always agree with Bonaire but on the subject of discipline he has a valid point and at least he in the main explains the reasoning to his posts.
For me we still seem to lack any attacking structure as we look so short of idea its unreal and as someone alluded to in an earlier post its almost as though Agar was back.
