I no longer buy the bad egg theory as the sole cause, since one of the players named as such continues to.put in strong perfoemances. If there genuinely are disruptive influences in the dresssing room.well, we'll be stuck with a few still next year.
But we've reached a watershed moment. Whether this group of players and coaches are capable of pulling together and delivering results is now highly questionable.
I think this must be the reason. So double down on Powell or pander to the sulking nearly men...?

We are now so far down the rabbit hole with Powell that it’s not easy to see a way out. By the sound of it he has told the bulk of the side they are not wanted yet continues to have to rely on them until the end of the season. Despite being told originally that he has a good track record at producing young players he has shown little or no interest in playing them. Quite how Dean Thewlis Longstaff feel I have no idea
The overall thinking is now so muddled it is not clear what happens next. Sack Powell and next years recruitment becomes even more difficult to understand. Would a replacement want those players?
I just don’t understand this Powell as saviour of Warrington view from some fans. Sure, he had some success at Cas but over the last couple of years there the teams performance was poor – 17 wins in 2 years which has continued here with 5 this season. He has never won one of the major trophies. He had some success with Cas over ten years ago. The game and players have changed. So he is the man who is going to lead us to a golden dynasty for the club? If you think so that says more about your faith than judgement. The game has passed him by and he isn’t going to catch up any time soon if at all. There are many on here slating the players, perhaps some of this is justified, I don’t know I am not close enough to judge, BUT, Powel is the coach. It is his responsibility to get the best from each and every player, to combine together and deliver to the best of their ability, weeding out those who the club can dispense with. His priority is to deliver a winning team consistently from when he arrived and to develop the playing group and standards – skills, attitudes, culture on an ongoing basis for the future. He hasn’t done this. He hasn’t managed the transition from what he started with to how he wants the team to play. His attitude on arrival seems to have been do it my way and not listen to his players. The team’s performance is getting worse, individual performances are worse, the playing group worse, the culture worse. Next year’s sale of season tickets and sponsorships will be a hard sell. Crowds are down, and we have a Coach who thinks we are in a good position. Wake up fans, have some guts and say the club got it wrong taking on Mr Powell and his coaching team, they have shown no sign of improving our club, in fact it is getting worse. Directors, shake hands with them bid them goodbye, they may even be relieved to get away if they are honest. Use internal resources between now until we find a decent up to date coach, this experiment has been and continues to be a disaster.

If we were guaranteed 11th this season(this is how low we've sunk!)I would stick with Powell when half of this rabble have gone. But unfortunately the threat of relegation is as real as 2002 and he might have to go.

You may be right but point of correction, Powell took Castleford to league leaders shield in 2017 and the GF when Tony Smith and a good number of our players (currie, cooper, philbin, clark, king, ratchford etc) were underperforming again in the middle 8s. He also got to a CC final last year. Thats fairly recent.
A poor coach doesnt make a GF on sub cap spend.
There is an element of faith though. Some believe we have a cabal of players who simply dont give a toss about professionalism, the club, the fans, and have had it easy for years playing when they fancy it. We are hoping that Powell can overcome this.
