I am pleased to see Ben Reynolds answering his critics , me included. He has upped his game. His try in the final was top notch for a stand-off. He is creating tries with his passing and kicking, and he is leading the team around the field as well as getting through a lot of tackling. His only blot in the final was missing that kick for touch. Really good to see him step up. We'll done, Ben!!
I thought we were awesome in the final. We made Fev look a very standard team. Our forwards outmuscled their forwards and our defence was outstanding. Ipape and Amone were fantastic today. Ipape is best 9 since a young Mickey Higham.

Agreed. I've been a critic of Ben but, certainly don't mind being proven wrong. Keep it up Ben.
Agreed. Ben Reynolds has certainly improved his game and with top level coaching has developed a partnership with Joe Mellor so vital in the well structured range of attacking plays.
He had an outstanding game and answered every concern laid against him, especially the one of not stepping up in big games. His best game for us this season and seems to be growing in self confidence. More of the same please Ben.
First game was in 1967, and have been hooked since day 1. Now live in Vancouver, Canada but follow our team any way I can. “Up The Comics !”
Ben was absolutely fine on the big day and did not let anybody down. He scored a lovely try himself and set up another with a pin point kick for Inu for our first try. He was part and parcel of what was a fairly decent all round team performance.
It was all about winning on Saturday and about puncturing that balloon of self-belief that Feathersone had built up following the game in February. In that respect, job done, DB's trophy back in the right trophy cabinet and a certain Yorkshire team's belief that they are the best team in the division well and truly exploded. Job's a good un'.
Roll on part 3 on 13th June. If we play in the next game against them anywhere our new level of best then we will take them apart. On Saturday i saw absolutely nothing for us to worry about in relation to Featherstone as our main opponents. We made them look an ageing, slow and ineffective opposition, without playing overly well ourselves i might add. There is definitely more in the tank for us.
Worrying times to be a Fev fan on the evidence of Saturday. All that money spent on players over 30. Yes, all the experience in the world but they are so slow in comparison. We are bigger as a team and a whole load more dynamic and physical than Fev both in defense and when driving the ball up in attack.
I cannot see how Fev are going to correct this and be able to stop us in the time that is left in the season. Their player recruitment is clearly wrong in comparison and i cannot see where their money is going to come from to make the wholesale changes that are clearly necessary. Big Mac knows it as well given his post game comments. Even his pre-game comments about part time team's chances of getting promotion were also telling.
All the momentum is now with Leigh. Perhaps the rugby writers' views will also have changed following the game. Most of them were so well wide of the mark in terms of anticipated result (George Riley for example had Fev down to win by 20!) that you have to question their judgment. You did not have to be a Leigh fan to see that Saturday's result was coming.

Maybe you did have to be a Leigh fan to see it coming, Jack. There was the odd good luck message from neutral fans, but saw not a single prediction that Leigh would win that was not from a C&W follower. The Beeb & Prem Sports obviously hyped it as a likely close run thing but in the end the C-Cup Final was the closer match.
Bongser has now watched the whole of the 1895 final three times and the outcome has always been the same, making it Leigh 3-1 Fev this season so far!

Nice to see that the Twitter account has updated. But here's a pic from said. It may be the toe end of a player's (Inus?), but it looks like DB was celebrating so hard that he split his kecks:

Post of the season. You are a man with issues, and the eyes of a hawk
