Batley got a spanking off Leigh but it’s difficult to see anything for us at their gaff. I note we haven’t strengthened which is disappointing. We have about a million games on the road over the Summer so odds are not many points and yet Workington and Dewsbury are pretty close to must wins. I was hoping we bring a few in get them to bed in at Batley and all guns blazing for Workie and Rams. That’s not the way it’s worked though. By this time next month I think the decision makers could confidently begin to plan for next season pretty much knowing what league we’ll be in. I’d urge against the wait and see approach: it hasn’t worked 2 years on the spin now.

Batley are a top 6 side who will revel in adding to their points difference on Sunday. I'm not sure what the clubs thinking is in regards of signing someone to steer us around the park, which Chisolm showed we needed, but I suspect we might well be relegated by the time we return to the Cherry Red and if we're hanging on by a thread then, I predict we will be gone by August.
If amateurs like us can see where we are lacking a player of class, then surely those who are paid to notice as well as those paying them can too?
Batley by 30

I seriously thought of going to the Batley game, but after what was served up last Friday. I decided against wasting my time and money.

It is interesting the Coleman's primary excuse for performances seems to be that so many players changed it takes time for them to bed in. Yet, the one player who did seem to make a difference did it in the shortest time.

The current squad will do well in league 1, maybe making the promotion spots but they will struggle at town and dewsbury away

I see that the 1st team list on the website has been updated and photos put in for most of those who had previously had a gap. Rob Oakley is obviously dodging the cameraman. I note Alex Walker has dropped off the list - as he’s in today’s squad that will be an error but others have also gone. I can’t keep up with the Skolars we have recruited but whilst Thurman is in Juma, who we never seemed to recognise and one of the Greenhlagh twins(?) has gone. We seem to be at 28 players.

Just checked and it is nearly half time and we are winning 0-12.

Yup. Could have been worse: we appeared to have turned up in the first half but 2nd half didn’t have enough. Bottom line another game another comfortable loss. Not looking good is it?
