The SL judiciary must be under instructions to penalise anything at all resembling foul play - presumably to protect from future litigation. The NRL went through a bit of a crazy spell but recognized they were in danger of destroying the spectacle. I think they've got the balance about right now.

Is that it? Our list of injured and suspended players is suddenly looking quite reasonable, it’s no longer an excuse for under performance and poor results.
Newman posting about squatting 215 kg. Whilst this is great, really not sure trying to move weights like that does them that much good whilst they are coming back from injury. Anyone who trains knows that’s a phenomenal weight, that does also have significant risks if you get it slightly wrong. But hey ho, must be guided by rehab team…..

I share your fear with that. I also saw he was doing sprints yesterday. Hopefully he performs a good month of sprint work prior to returning. I think the biggest risk to his hammy is the explosiveness from a stand still start or from a side step to full speed. He needs to be fully confident in his hamstring managing before returning otherwise it will likely be back to square one again.

Not the way to impress the new boss getting involved in a punch up in your first game of the season while playing for a different club in what was essentially a fitness run out. People will say he shouldnt have been playing but he has to take responsibility for his own actions

Exactly why he was playing to see how his body stood up to contact in a game situation. Anybody can cop a card for a mistimed tackle but whatever provocation should be professional enough not to get involved in a "brawl"
