Third nilling handed out in the last six games (in those games Leyth have totalled 160pts). But the first nilling dished out away from home and against Batley! Thank goodness Bongser has a day off tomorrow or everyone from the lollipop lady, the school kids and mums that obstruct his way to the bus stop, the usuals on the V2, his colleagues and customers etc will, judging by the inane grin on his face, assume that Bongser has finally cracked (as they have no doubt long suspected might happen).

That performance was much, much better than previous weeks. We were more powerful all around the park than Batley, whether going forward with the ball or in defence.

You could see tonight that the team had their collective game face on. They were up for it and they were good.

If we can play with that collective spirit, application and skill against Fev in London for the Cup Final then we have every chance of winning. I think Fev fans watching Leigh's performance tonight will be getting worried about their teams chances. A quick glance at the Batley fans forum and a number of their fans who were there tonight and have seen both us and Fev believe that we will be too powerful for Fev. I certainly hope so.

Everything tonight was a move in the right direction. We are not the finished article yet but more things were right in the performance tonight then they were wrong. Slowly but surely we may just be getting there.

For those who were not there tonight and who remain sceptical about our star Aussie signing then i can report that Ferguson was with the team tonight, in the dug out, and was braving the cold Yorkshire night air dressed in t shirt and shorts and looking for all the world that he had just stepped off the beach at Bondi. He was in noticeably good spirits, and not the alcoholic type! My guess is that he plays the next game.

Cheers Jack. Didn't make it tonight, in fact only got to Bongser Towers on 20 odd minutes in. By the time settled watching tele with la jeunesse with lap top on coffee table beside me (after "marital" negotiations and donning shirt and scarf) it was HT and 28-0!

Started to explain the slope but was cut short by,
