The hockey season has finished so it’s not that sadly. We just have to accept we couldn’t organise a knees up in a Family Day so to speak. Very Poor.

Frankly, that is pathetic from the Broncos. The club is run by people who just don't seem to care.

I think it is arrogance by the club. They believe things like this are beneath them.
After all we have so many fans, Why would they want more ?

That could well be right but I think it may be more simple. When we were planning this crucial season we overlooked the need for people to deliver success. Some vague promises about getting fans to fill the gaps were mentioned and everyone took them at face value and never thought about it again. Hence zero match day experience outside corporate and zero community engagement. Looking from the outside without knowing all the facts this looks like rank incompetence. That may or may not be a harsh assessment.

To me, this is a sackable offence!
Our CEO has been tasked with delivering 5,000 as an average attendance by the end of the 2026 season. Thus far we languish on a number similar to our last full championship season at the wedding venue (980) and in a downward spiral. This was a huge opportunity to introduce Rugby League to our home (sic) community and immediate neighbours. Commercially it was a free ad campaign.
Over and above the kids and parents who were there, local industry and businesses should have been invited along by the broncos, given a free beer and courted as potential sponsors for players.....there's plenty available
I'd have given every attendee a free ticket to our next home game in July v Sheffield (a northern town they'll have heard of) and had buckndusty doing a conversions/tackling.....a few players handing out t-shirts/hats/mini balls.....

The lack of effort from those at the club exposes either acceptance that this is our final year or that we are a shoo in for SLII.......

The biggest miss to me was having so many people in the stadium today that would never have been there before. The two figures I've heard today were "thousands" and 5,000. The latter being quite apt as the target chased by DH has been hit by a Fun Day! I doubt the numbers are known as it was just walk in, but it was certainly multiple thousands. Saw loads leaving after a two or three hours in the morning, presumably heading home for Sunday lunch.

My guess is that the London Broncos have just missed the single biggest opportunity to entice a large number of new visitors to Plough Lane. The day was made for their mascots. It was made for giving the opportunity to visit the stadium again (on a Sunday afternoon)

To have the entry via the club shop was a master stroke. It's not just the sales on the day, it's the awareness that the shop is there with choices for all budgets.

Even if we are a shoe in for SL2, why would the club not take the opportunity to promote itself at this event ? Beggars belief.

Gus Mackay we salute you!!

It’s a serious question but how many back room staff do we have. I think it may just be Lobster and the ex pro who has just replaced ML. What are their remits? For instance someone must be responsible for match day, someone for recruitment and retention. On the former we seem to focus on the Gold Lounge experience only. On the latter our risk averse wait and see approach over the last two years has seen us with our pants down. May I cordially suggest that both of these key areas need a lot of urgent work ASAP if this season is to remain anywhere close to on track.

I don’t recommend that anyone from the club read our musings but if they are then right here is the problem. Smithers is one of a very small number of AFC fans who’ve actually took the time to engage with the club and attends matches. It’s increasingly obvious that at best he is becoming baffled by our on and off field incompetence and at worst gradually Alienated. The club really need to get a grip everyone can see it’s just not being run effectively.

Objectively yes it probably be is but if someone gets sacked then there is no one to put out the napkins in the Gold Lounge.
