I feel sorry for Skolars. They seem to be going nowhere now. It strikes me two semi pro RL teams in London is one too many. If an investor came in at Skolars and maybe played at, say, Orient they might find their way into a 20 team structure rather than Broncos. But that's a lot of "if, buts and maybes".

They announced 940 at the game like it was something to be proud of?
Don't get me wrong....regardless of the freebies etc, that's a decent number for a Friday night game, but look at the effort and results of other clubs to attract crowds on Mondays when the TV cameras are there and you'll see how far we have to go
As we have no figures to deal with (I've asked) for Bradford or Dewsbury, we can't work out an average attendance after 6 home games, but if we accept that dewsbury was sub 600 as many have said, it's fair to say we are heading for an average for the season of fewer than 1,000.....20% into Hughes back.of a beer-mat target.
I'm not sure if my assumption that we've moved because we are a shoo in for SLII is correct,, but even if we are, we will need to show we can attract crowds for the new decision makers at IMG to give us a chance.
As for Hughes himself. If IMG are of the opinion that the sport needs a capital team, they my find it easier to create one from scratch than deal.withna man who has a track record if failed business marriages. He obviously doesn't play well with others and likes to be told what he wants to hear.
Chisholm was the missing piece of the on field puzzle, but rather than rent him a family home for 6 months and double his wages before letting him to to Keighley (who don't need him) we assumed we'd kick on from our win without him....we were wrong and that hammering at home to Newcastle was a disgrace.

If I had to guess and assuming we stay up (quite a big assumption) this season will be spun as:
Difficult transitional season we have improved on the field - players bedded in and ready to do better next year,
We’ve shown good standard players will come to play PT rugby in London ( I don’t think this would stand up to a fact check but they’ll say it)
Average crowds of 1000 ( no need to mention discounted/free tickets) and that 3 sides of our stadium are closed.
Record numbers in corporate. Yeah!

Behind the scenes though they need to understand that a big stadium in not the be all and end all. If they want this to be a success opening the gates and one kiosk just doesn’t do it.
They also need to get a rocket up their retention and recruitment policy. Almost every other club is making monkeys of us.
To my mind I suspect we have less back room staff than most of the top L1 sides. Really difficult to see anything good coming of this unless we recalibrate our approach. If we don’t HAVE to have a Reserves we shouldn’t have one and use the money else where.

BTW there is a 10 minute interview with Coleman and the Our league guy. It gives a better idea of JC and his thoughts and is. On YouTube. My take away from this is we train at Rosslyn Park on exactly the same day as RP. Meaning we don’t go on pitch until 8:30 for an hour and a half. Difficult to see how we got ourselves in that position and how much you can do in this time frame. It also appears that by the time. Coleman arrived our retention failure was complete and we had only 6/remaining so it was the club at fault in that aspect not him.

I really do not know why having made the decision to go part time, the club did not do as Fulham did and base the team in the North.
They could have attracted a much better standard of player and coach. Players could have remained living in their homes with their families.
I am sure it would have worked.

This exactly, if I was IMG, I would be wanting him out.

It's decent interview and a lot more revealing than the barely audible clip the club put out. Highlights where the source of our problems are.

Highlights where SOME of our problems are Buzza. If it highlighted them all we’d be here all day!
