Death to League 1, thanks Ralph. Potential end of the London, Wales and Midlands experiment. The big pigs will load the trough by reducing Rugby League to Super League 1 and 2 with only 20 team surviving the cull. In the current situation teams in trouble would be famous clubs like Bradford and Widnes, historic Cumbrian teams like Whitehaven and Workington and development teams like Newcastle, North Wales, Midland, Cornwall, West Wales and both London Broncos and Skolars are potential lambs to the slaughter. It is ironic that the highly successful NRL is currently expanding as the UK is shutting down to allow for the spectacle of 5 matches between Wigan and Saints with Sky Sports trying to revive the corpse and get the neutral fans interested. Leigh and Featherstone are attempting to upset the applecart by the miracle of finishing 10th in the Super League in 2023. Currently occupying dead man shoes for relegation are Leeds, Salford, Wakefield and Toulouse. Imagine how thrilled RLHQ will be if Leeds are in Super League 2 and Bradford go out of existence. IMG's other big plans will revolve around, Betting, marketing and merchandising. All this is marginally better than previous great ideas such as mergers or franchising.

It's brutal but it's likely to happen. Then again, the biggest shafting is the one for Cornwall's owner and few will mourn his latest failure. Surf and turf holidays off, boys & gals!

Atomic, have you even bothered to read the proposal. All Rugby League outside of 20 teams will become amateur. Historic clubs and all development clubs will almost certainly cease to be.
