Smith says Championship is a possibility and would love to receive any interest. I think Smith wants a new challenge where he would get complete control of the rugby side of the club and build it his way.
Please somebody give him a call and see if he would be interested but I won't hold my breath.
His brother did it with the Bulls in the 90's so it would be great to think he could do the same.

I don’t think Smith is the type to blow smoke. He made his name by building a team .He moved on to big name teams -Leeds, Warrington and International.
He then took over KR which I think he saw as a project. The manner of his leaving suggests there was a row about control.
So there’s a possibility that he might be interested in a club fallen on hard times.
Having said that, if it’s case of choosing between an aspiring championship club and becoming , say, Director of Rugby with his nephew as coach………
PS I know for a fact he was a big admirer of our Academy. Remember he recruited John Bastian and has recruited Ryan, Milnes & Storton . Minchella and Keyes were not

Hi bulls2487, your post and that statement (good spot btw) would suggest that the possibility of a 14 club SL for 2023 is still in the mix. Or is Bongser misreading (as usual)?

I had heard that was the plan
14 team SL for 2023 with 4 relegated at end of 2023
So it's either 1 down and 3 up or no relegation and 2 up.
Feel for Leigh and Fev though as be tough to finish 10th in SL

There has still got to be P & R between the 2 leagues if you ask me?
a Ten team closed shop is pointless.
I would have thought there would be some type of a league split at a point in the season, a bit like the MPG mini league set up .. "Every second counts" and all that jazz.

I think the majority of fans had just about got a good understanding of the current structure so its good to know we are shuffling the deck chairs again to address that Vital appointment for us. We need someone who can turn us into a side consistently in the playoffs. We are some way off promotion but playoffs at least place us as one of the better teams in the league on standing plus I suppose everyone has a punchers chance in the playoffs

Just watched the last hour (from the suggested start time) and found it exhausting. It could've/should've been distilled into a 10 minute conversation, staged and scripted after that pub brawl had taken place.
