It’s a doddle compared to heading to Lancashire on the M62.

No, I get that mate. It's an easier commute for sure but it's still a commute and as Wigan held his contract I think it was more a case of a better reason to break it than a slightly easier drive. They did allow him to speak to all the club's that fit his stated desire to be "near his family" which I think was being more than fair.
As you say though; all irrelevant now. The focus has, quite rightly, shifted to his health issues. Hopefully it wasn't too serious and he makes a full recovery.
