Wouldnt get in at saints ( roby/lussick ) Wouldnt get in at Wigan ( Powell ) Wouldnt get in at wire ( clark/walker ) Wouldnt get in at catalan ( mcilorum ) Wouldnt get in at cas ( mcshane ) Wouldnt get in at rovers ( parcell/litten ) Wouldnt get in at Leeds ( dwyer/Leeming )
It's only until he finally leaves/retires we will realise how average little he brought
Tackling and the odd good kick that's it
Powell has not outperformed Houghton this season. McIlorum is a bog standard defensive hooker, everything you deride Houghton for. McShane is hopelessly out of form this season. Litten left because he's not good enough to play in front of Houghton.
The words of fools mean nothing to one who resides in the truth.

So your doubtful if Houghton is better than any of them
And you skipped the rest to obviously 100% agree about the others
Josh Hodgson wasn't "good enough" apparently we kept houghton instead what a decision that turned out eh
you trying to say Houghton is better than Hodgson ..... Wow

Hodgson has hardly played in the last couple of years, and fans where highly critical of him when playing for England for hindering our attack due to him wanting to take a couple of steps before releasing the ball, slowing the attack down.
You keep going on about Lovodua, but he's played half a game at hooker all year, yet your comparing him to Houghton? Delusional

Lovodua has played one 40 minute spell at hooker, so yes Houghton has been better this season, give it a rest. Hodgson didn’t show what he was capable of until he left the Dobbins for Oz. The training and game time he got there made him the player he became. FC were right to release both him and Litten at the time. Danny was simply better. Age is having an effect but he can still do 80 minutes at a very high level.

Your first mistake was letting Josh Hodgson go, who went on to have a very good career at a higher level. Mistake repeated by allowing Litten to move on, who from what i have seen has come on leaps and bounds at HKR culminating in his selection for England Knights yesterday. Hull FC supporters obviously see more of Danny Houghton than other RL fans and although he has been a good and loyal player over the past decade he is certainly a 'yesterday man'..

Don’t let England Knights selection fool you.
Everyone gets selected for them at some point
Litten is quick off the mark but makes too many errors to be a top class hooker. He wasn’t going to get much game time with us so it was best for all concerned if he moved on.
If Wynne is allowed to leave we'll regret it big time.

Hardly surprising Josh Hodgson left, he never played hooker for the 1st team, and managed just 2 bench spots in total in 2009. Berrigan (who left at the end of 2010), Houghton and Tommy Lee were ahead of him.
I've never understood the phrase "letting .... go", when a player is out of contract he can do whatever he wants.
Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?
While I understand the disappointment people would have should it come down to money RE Wynne, however the club really only has itself to blame.
For quite a while now the club has given out sentimental contracts to players who realistically are been paid more than they are worth. We could now be paying the price and losing out on the homegrown talent we seem to be aspiring towards. It's a short career, if a club is coming in and offering a better wage you can't blame players for having their heads turned. I am however reasonably confident that he will stay.
