I think if Hughes had a potential replacement, then he would already be gone, the issue is who do you replace him with. If your planning on winding up the club then why get a new one
I really think Newcastle will be our last home game. We will get <500 for it as its a Friday night, and Hughes will then decide to throw in the towel at that point
Bit grim this but seems to me that no wins in 10 games puts us in relegation form and in the manager replacement space. However 2 questions seem relevant to me: 1)how complicit is Coleman in the squad we have out and 2) would it be sensible to replace him at this stage. I thought Rambo made a good point that no one would do well with what is, to no small degree, a L1 side. Question is how did we get this squad. If JC said he could get some like for like players from L1 and Skolars then that was inaccurate and he has to take responsibility. However I have a feeling that might not be what happened. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was told we were confident of retaining 50% ish of our 2021 squad, that we’d be signing good Aussie and had contacts with SL clubs to bring in promising youngsters on year long loans. All he would need to do was bring in a couple of his favourites from Skolars and a couple of hand picked players from L1 sides. Later when this all proved to be eyewash he had to raid Skolars as an emergency measure, play what we have out of position, bring players into crucial positions for 2 weeks and then deal with the lack of cohesion and we are where we are. If this is the case then the 2 out of 3 L1 players leaving straight away is on him and the fact that only Latu from the Skolars ‘chosen few’ has been consistent is on him but the overall recruitment failure less so. Turning to who would come next. IMHO it would be an internal candidate as no one would move to London to take on a bottom of the league team and I’m not sure any are an obvious step up and, should we get relegated, they’d probably be sacked leaving another recruitment hole to fill. On balance we should stick with Coleman until end of season and see what he can do. As others I think if we don’t beat Dewsbury we are done for but you never know. Either way at season’s end Some serious thinking and planning will be required for there to be any future for Broncos.
All winter I erroneously predicted we would have a core of experienced day trippers from the north in key positions. It's the only way this may just have worked.
If Jermaine tried to do that and couldn't then fair enough (too late, not enough money etc.) If he chose not to, then there are questions to answer.
Truth be told, I fear changing coach now is too little too late irrespective of why we didn't sign daytrippers. It looks like we are seeing the demise of the club sadly.

Danny Ward got the shove, Tom Tsang got the shove and so should the Coleman Bros. Pay a more experienced coach extra and we'll defo win quite a few games - enough to stop relegation anyway.

In his pre-season message DH was "genuinely delighted with the squad we have assembled on the budget we have allocated him". Not sure too many fans saw it that way but to a large extent you probably get what you pay for.

If Coleman was allocated ten bob then I believe him otherwise really, really difficult to see what DH was getting at. The delight didn’t seem to last very long either as we have continued to try and dig up extra players. I wonder if the scales fell from his eyes after the first 10 minutes of the Widnes game or whether when it finely dawned we were going to be nilled by Whitehaven at home?
Or perhaps the statement is a way of DH saying don’t blame me the squad’s all Coleman’s idea. Who knows. The one thing I do know is I wasn’t delighted and I don’t remember too many on this forum thinking the squad looked right for Championship.

Maybe someone told him Skolars were in SuperLeague and we’d done really well to capture 9 of their players! I really don’t have a clue what we were thinking of which is why I have put forward my appropriate adult model going forward. The decisions we have made are not only baffling but self defeating. Someone (with a brain and no dog in the fight) looking in from the outside would pick it up in 5 minutes surely?
