Ive just watched the game back and I really can't get over how much fitter we looked than Bradford despite playing a man short. Brandon Moore was excellent and they really can't handle him and Titus Gwaze had a huge impact as well, he has been a really good signing. If anything its only some outstanding last ditch tackles by Bradford that stopped us winning the game by a greater margin. Another thing that stood out was just how bad our last tackle options were in the second half, even 50% better and you get the feeling we would have taken control of the game. our half backs looked a lot better than Lilley and Patton and I just don't get Lilley. Everything seems forced with him, where as Keyes just looks a natural Lilley everything just looks manufactured like he is not himself and more doing what he either thinks his role involves or what he has been told. His whole body language through the game was probably a good indication of where bradford were at for Halifax and Lilley played the second half like Bradford were the team hanging on with 12 players, even the drop goal in the 1st half said the same and Im sure that were discussed in our dressing room at half time.

Yes I’ve watched the game back too and if you hadn’t have seen the fairbank sending off you wouldn’t have been able to tell we were a man down . I know Grix gets a lot of criticism but by the celebrations at the end and the 2nd half against Whitehaven the players certainly buy into his philosophies and seem to be bonding well , the game will have been a great confidence booster and hopefully we can start to progress through the season. Based on what I saw of the fairbank/ hallas incident I’d be disappointed if only fairbank was punished.

Funny we have the same league record and the Bulls have just had to put out a statement in the last few minutes about recent results which looks another knee jerk reaction. Totally agree about the Fairbank incident, no way he gets that cut and needs the doctor to remove him from the field for a head assesment by accident. Fairbank got punished because he got the better punches in thats all.

Given that hallas is on the ground facing up with not a lot of momentum for a punch I’d make an educated guess that it was an elbow swipe to cause a cut as opposed to a fist , one of his relatives posted on fb that it required ten stitches so obviously caused some damage. Yes seen the statement on Twitter, let’s face it all fans can be fickle and I myself can be too critical too quickly at times when emotions get the better of me , I think the difference is we can see progress and even though our start has been inconsistent just like Bradfords the team as lots of positives . I mean odsal and Bradfords brand of rugby is poor especially on that pitch it’s really boring, are you really gonna pay to watch that week in week out . We have some exciting players and score some decent tries , can’t wait for gee to make an appearance and from what I’ve seen on social media Knowles is aiming for the York home game so that ll be like two new signings.
I couldn't see during the match on Friday what happened between fairbank and hallas but having watched it back a few times i thought jacob was well within his rights to defend himself. It goes without saying that if you do retaliate in that manner you will get sent off but 10 minutes in the bin for each player would of done for me but that isn't in the rules mores the pity. As for the bradford fans being unhappy i couldn't agree more with there unhappiness they pay there money and are entitled to express there opinions. And to be fair they have had these concerns for some time it is not easy turning up week in week out and handing over your money during these times when money for most is very tight to watch crap. The times when a coach would do the right thing and fall on there sword is few and far between these days they have to be dragged out kicking and screaming. All in all from the out side looking in kear as taken bradford as far as he can and should be replaced as coach.
I've always liked John Kear and the job he's doing at Bradford has further endeared him to me. As for the sending off....we have to accept-if not like-the pathetically soft way the game has gone,in the interest of safety. By this mantle now, there can be no scenario where the Bradford lad escapes at least a yellow.

I agree on everything you've said BJ.
Hear All, See All, Say Nowt. Eat All, Sup All, Pay Nowt. And if Tha ever does Owt for Nowt, Allus do it for Thissen.
Shame, but if you allow members of your team to consistantly turn up unfit you pay the price, even on your sh!tty, illegal narrow pitch.Grix heeded this lesson early on with the likes of Murrell.
