I would ask the question - will this signing really improve our situation? My answer is "meh". Never a big fan of Hallas during his previous incarnation with us. A reasonable squad member, but no stand out.

Hallas brings good fitness and a good work ethic. He's quite versatile too. He may not be the biggest, fastest or meanest forward but if he's used in the right way he won't let us down.
Given the injury situation we're in he should go straight into the starting lineup

That’s the key point for me. Hallas brings bucket loads of work ethic, enthusiasm and passion. He won’t be kicking his heels after missing a tackle like some of them are at the moment. He always seemed up for the challenge and gave it a good go which is all we can ask for.
Hopefully he can inspire some others to follow suit.

Hallas loves it. And is game as anything. We haven’t really conceded any ‘great’ tries. A lot of soft stuff close to the line. Hallas at 13 tightens up the defence and can hit and tackle and lock a ball up well. Good solid addition.

Well, the return of the prodigal didn't follow the script. Yes, Sam is a grafter and tries with all his heart, but unfortunately looked very ordinary tonight in a very poor team performance.

Thought Hallas did well TBH. His fitness and workrate put a few others to shame. He's never going to win us a game with a flashy play but he gives 100% unlike too many others.
