His distinct lack of pace has been highlighted now he is playing full back Talented ball payer but ask yourself would you like a Bevan French or a Jai Field at full back or Jake Connor?

If we had either of those two, they would probably an unused sub.
Hard to remember a player in the last 20 years whose game has been more scrutinized, everytime he makes a mistake people mention it or shoes a clip of it, if he plays well it's because the opposition is bad, he has been very good in lots of games, including against top teams and at international level.
He hasn't been great the last two games, but most of the team hasn't, but he gets most of the criticism. Despite this he still help create trys and opportunities, the rest of the big players need to step up and take some pressure off Connor.
You certainly can't criticises his effort the last two games, certainly not our worst player, but he gets all the criticism.
Lack of pace and needs to work on his one on one play with Hodgson, he has proved when playing 6 and centre he can defend.
Positives far outweigh his negatives.
I'd like to see us sign a FB and use Connor at halfback with Truman next season.
The problem now is that if Jake doesn't score a try, assist with at least 3 more and kick a 40/20 fans (mainly opposition) will claim he was quiet and had an awful game. He's expected to do more than any other player in the league each and every game. Heard a bit about how he was invisible at weekend but that's so untrue. He assisted with 1 of our 3 trys (McIntosh) and he was rock solid with any kick that came his way (tough to blame him too much for the McQueen try as that was a lovely set play on the 1st tackle). He was trying long balls to the wingers and flick passes, and the couple I can remember getting dropped where down to the player receiving them, but that tends to make Jake look bad. Even Lolohea's try, he didn't do anything wrong as such, it's not an error that he is slow, it's just very unfortunate.

Exactly this. The Lolohea try was a 2 on 1, went towards Tates, who passed. meaning Lolohea had a head start.
Could have done better with the Eden and Field try, but he gets blamed for everything, which isn't fair.
I've seen fans say he lacks effort, which is nonsense.
Understand that people have their own opinion on him, but I personally don't understand the hate he receives from his own supporters?! sure, Saturday vs Huddersfield he was quiet, but when the people in front of him were giving away penalties which Huddersfield converted into 2 points, basic errors, and lets not even get started on the slow PTB's, what chance has he got? By far the best player in our squad currently, if the people in front of him can set the platform for him on a consistent basis then maybe his game will follow.

To be quite honest I think one of the issues we had on Saturday was the unsettled halfback pairings, up until Gale came back we seemed to have some success in the halves with McNamara and Lovodua as they seemed to have gelled well and seemed to enable Connor to do what he does well. With the return of Gale a week earlier and then Reynolds during the game on Saturday it showed that they've played very little as a unit. In hindsight it may have been better to have stuck with what was working with Connor, McNamara & Lovodua.
However the issue of mind set, indiscipline and slow/lazy line speed is always going to have us on the back foot and chasing the game which we know all too well.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
