Another positive was seeing Brad Knowles walking around, just seen a post on fb saying he’s ahead of schedule and may feature again this season, regardless it’s good to see him well after what was an horrific injury.
I will take the positives from that game . Should never have been in the half time position with the squad we have . Wake up call whitehaven at home has to be a win to remain credible .

Just a really lacklustre first half, a couple of really soft tries against us and a couple that were a little fortunate for Haven. I thought we dominated for much the first half and what happened in the second half was not really anything I didn't expect. The players more than likely had a bollocking at half time and looked to respond well to whatever was said.
Fairbank and Tangata need to up their games massively, both are getting carried by the team at the moment, Larroyer was awful in that first half but like has been said he responded well in the second half and I much prefer him playing more direct like he did in the second period than a second row that tends to drift across the pitch. Hewitt was annoymous and I expected a lot more from him given how good he was for us previously. Keyes and Gwaze were standouts, I know Keyes has that bit of class and he really looks the part but I thought Gwaze in the second half really got us on the front foot and there must have been a few times where he took a couple of carries in the set while other forwards were having a breather.

First half was bizarre, both sets of players came off at half time hardly looking like they'd put much effort in. We didn't play well but the 2 "interception" tries against the run of play flattered the score line for Haven. Agree Keyes was head and shoulders above...got to be up there with the best HB's in this league. Titus is a machine, he took a few big hits, but he just gets up and keeps coming back, defenders will be sick of the sight of him.
Having reflected on the game and listened to grixs’ interview it’s clear they failed to execute the gameplan in the first half , they seem to think you can throw the ball around and just score at will . It still took over 20 mins and several sets to score our first try of the 2nd half which is ‘earning the right ‘ to play an expansive style . I’m starting to think there’s an iq problem with some players or they’re just mentally lazy and I don’t know how Grix keeps his cool sometimes, it’s not hard , complete your sets give no penalties and bide your time , you don’t have to score on every set .
Like someone said previously Hewitt was underwhelming as have all the duel reg players and it’s time we let the likes of calcott have a run now , in the first half I was thinking how peed off I would be trekking all way up to Newcastle on a Friday night to play for Huddersfield reserves to have duel reg players taking my spot . I know larroyer played well in the second half but he’s not a prop and shouldn’t be ahead of calcott and Morris in the pecking order.
