one of the main reasons Jake struggles v the Top teams is that he’s too busy defending all the time

He’s shattered coming out of his own half

that’s why your best ball players play at 6 so they are fresh when attacking

you don’t ask your best bowler to take wicket when he’s not bowling and also open batting

In a tough match Jake would be shattered defending , and this is what’s happening.

Get Wynne at FB and move Jake

Wynne isn't even our best reserve fullback.

Even when hes spelled he never does much attacking

A 10/15 yard scoot when the opposition are on the back foot isn't good

When players like Roby Clark dwyer would break the line and be a try on the back of that

Houghton has held our attack back so much over the years the opposition know he's not a threat so can move away from acting half quicker

Moment of magic

Watch it again doesn't even step Connor just runs straight through him was a very poor effort

Nonsense

Connor won't make hardly any tackles

And running the ball back.... Majority of the time he passes it straight to the winger

Stop with these excuses doesn't do club any good

He needs to up his game against the best end of....now people are starting to see it he isn't invincible

He's got bad habits from Huddersfield they bottled it in the big matches as well and that's what Connor is doing

Even Cameron Smith missed the odd tackle. I never wrote him off.

Odd tackle

What Liam farrell
Eden
Cas winger ( can't remember his name he barely played since ) from memory all the in the last 8/9 months

And all 4 was trys that was terrible

Farrell esp was just embarrassing that is probably the main reason why he's not in the England squad

If your full back can't catch Liam farrell then what's the chances of catching latrell Mitchell or addo Carr

Oh and shaul would of stopped all of them trys 100%

Of course he would, like he did in the 2016 final, when he was done for pace by Ben Currie, what position is Currie again?

There has been plenty of times Shaul has been beaten, I remember Liam Marshall beating him a couple of times, maybe in Aus?

The facts are Connor is a bit slow, he needs to work on his decision making in defence, Hodgson should be helping him with that. Connors defemce was decent when he has played centr and halfback.

Shaul has pace, but that's it, the rest of his game isn't great, add to the fact he is always injured, if Connor was out on Saturday I still wouldn't play Shaul there, he is finished at decent SL level,.

He may have made those tackles, but would have created little with ball in hand and had Shaul played instead of Connor, im not sure we would have won a game this year.

His one game at fullback was awful, 5 errors and got beat to the ball by Welsby for the try.

I'd happily see Connor at halfback if we sign a decent fullback, that isn't Shaul.

Still fail to see what Johnstone brings, offers so little go forward, surely Bowden offers more.

Top pack, but don't think we use it enough

Absolutely correct in my opinion. I watched the NRL all weekend any Haas, made 8 drives for Brisbane in the first half alone. Similar thing with Parramatta, so why we persist with players who get pushed back by a hungry opposition is baffling. The backs are fine when the opposition line is disjointed , but when they're set to defend and pin us down, the big men are needed, as they do not concede as much ground when the opposition forwards pile in mob handed. There are some glaring inconsistencies with our game plans, on Thursday I do think we had no idea of how to finish our sets near their line and for all I have criticised him previously, Sneyd would have managed that so much better for us to see the game out I think. We no longer possess the aerial threat of Mahe and Talanoa, so put the ball on the floor, which often produces a drop out or even an error from a scrambling defence.
