I understand now. Anybody actually running the club?
As Orangeman, Benny Profane (with his specialist knowledge) and Big Time amongst others have noted, the London Broncos can't even get the most basic task right, selling tickets.
If you attempt to buy at the moment, you are met with 'Please keep device in portrait orientation, not in land scape mode.'
Well I do apologise on behalf of my laptop, I've turned it on it's side to get a portrait view, but to no avail ! Come on this is Mickey Mouse (with apologies to the great mouse).
I tried on my phone, and yes it does work when held in portrait rotation. Not sure I’ve ever bought tickets on my mobile, always on a computer.
By the way, this may be regarded as a minor issue. But try it, pretend you are buying a ticket for the first time. Do you just see a minor issue, or do you just move on with your other Sunday plans? For something that is a nice to do, I think you give up quite quickly; I mean you haven't even got as far as selecting seats, paying, receiving the tickets, all areas that may have issues.
My impression as a newcomer, is for whatever reason, the club have just given up. Mistakes happen, but I see very little enthusiasm or visibility of trying to establish the club in a new location. There appears to be zero presence in the Wimbledon area. Is there actually anyone to instigate and run a campaign in the local community? Fundamentally this isn't about locals not being interested in the sport (of course many won't), but the number of local non AFC Wimbledon supporters who even know there is a high level (no sniggering please) Rugby League team playing in the borough will be miniscule.
Unfortunately what is happening is exactly what many of us who have been around the club for years predicted. It's not a shock.
As ever the club assumed simply moving grounds would see thousands beating down the door to get in. Without out any need for them to do the basics, such as selling tickets competently, doing basic marketing etc. The problem has always been the location apparently, not appalling mismanagement off the field...
The only real variation is they decided to devastate the playing standard whilst simultaneously burning money in a ground far too big for the current status of the club.
Sadly I fear there is a second variation to come. I really can't see the club surviving this fiasco.
Hate to say I (we) told you so....... A disgusting shambles. I really dont ever want to hear Hughes is the saviour of London Broncos. He is the reason we are in this mess.
Here's the latest problem on the ticketing website - a 1hour virtual queue to book tickets for the Bradford game!!! You couldn't make it up unless, of course, the game is a sellout.
AFC Wimbledon's ticketing was even worse at the start of the season. The Dons Trust Board put out an official statement that they would review the issues and publish the findings. We are still waiting 7 months later. The day it was going to be published a month or two ago, they came across more information. We now wait on Legal, 14 days late on that being completed.
How two big sporting clubs can mess up the number one priority of selling tickets is hard to comprehend.
They will probably allow you to buy from the club shop on sunday... with only one person serving Hence queue of 500+ bradford fans trying to get a ticket stopping anybody being able to actually buy anything like a top..
As this should be 1500 - 2k gate, its another mess. As private frazer would say (we're doomed)
Possibly the problem with the tickets will now be sorted out as they eventually posted something new on Twitter- usual stuff buy tickets, buy platinum lounge get padded seats etc and someone posted fix your site and I would buy a ticket. Unbelievably they asked him to explain what the problem was so they could fix. It seems for the last 3 (is it?)weeksThey couldn’t see a problem. One assumes the problem was only met by those on this forum as surely they would have noticed sluggish sales. Or maybe there is next to no oversight or quality control going on at all. Surely it can’t be that.(Having said all that the punter didn’t explain what the problem was so maybe they have just taken him for a troll and ignored the problem.) Is it pantomime season already.
