As soon as Agar’s gone there will be lots of interest in the Leeds head coaching job, both from people based in the Uk and Australia. I have defended Agar previously but can now see no option but for him to leave the club with immediate effect.

Don't know the answer to this but how big a say does he have in recruitment? If it's not very much then a new coach os pointless. If he does have a big say in it then agree he's done a poor job over the preseason.

I struggle to see us beating Cas. They were far better than us at Wigan on Thursday and they'll be up for it, as they always are, against Leeds. I haven't seen Tolouse yet but I'm sad to say we currently look the poorest side in the league.
Agar's press conference after the game was insipid, uninspiring and full of the usual word-salad of phrases used in the NRL a decade ago. Plus lots about him having no idea why we are bad as we look OK in training. Assuming the players actually want him to stay, what on earth does that suggest he tells them during the week or at half time?
If Agar has a big say in recruitment then he cannot be taken seriously as director of rugby. Our lack of props, speed and re-signing of hacks has all continued or got worse since he became coach. If the opposite then we'll struggle to get the kind of coach we need. Any self-respecting coach would want as much free rein as possible with respect to signings.
I genuinely don't see the point of getting in a new coach who won't have the power to change pretty much anything they see fit - assistants, backroom staff and players.
