on the refereeing issues, smart half backs should be perfecting their skills of taking the ball right into the teeth of the defensive like and passing as late as possible so the tackler cant pull out and gets binned. Hold off and they dummy and go through the gap. You can see this becoming a tactical play to manipulate the current rules.

Absolutely. Rules will always be manipulated. Like when the hooker would deliberately throw the ball at the late retreating defender. They cottoned on to that, so hopefully all of these yellows for tickling will go next season. It's going to be a long season until then though. I won't be wasting any money as it stands.

The Fonua incident was not even a penalty, let alone a card. If you're committed enough to the tackle to hit the ball with your hand, it's not a late tackle in my book.
I hate it when Kendall refs, as he often ruins the game. I'd rather the refs err on the side of caution when it comes to cards generally, because it has such an impact on the game. I also don't like the VR reviewing late hits in slow motion. It has to be full-speed to be a real assessment.
I do think though that a clamp down on high shots is good (it's the bans that are ridiculous). Changing the game by ruling you have to tackle below the shoulder would free up players for more offloads and lead to a more open, entertaining game IMO. It's literally work wonders in RU.
