Bloody hell that was closer than I expected. Proud of the effort and determination to cling on and almost grind out the result. Leigh’s fitness the difference tonight.

Flanagan MOTM for me tonight. I hope we can back this up against Workington on Sunday.

Really enjoyed the game and we just came up short at the end. The team I thought seemed better without Crossley , I don't know if he was injured or dropped but it was the best I've seen them play for a while and I'm glad that I went even though it was a bit chilly !

Watched on TV. Cracking effort. Should have lead at the break as Patton wasn’t offside.

Same things let us down again though. Two soft tries (Sidlow’s and Macdonalds).

Only player I was slightly disappointed at tonight was Kibula. I had high hopes when we signed him but he looks unfit, didn’t make any metres and missed a few tackles.

Hope he picks up and becomes the player I know he is!

Overall fantastic effort!! Patton, Scott, Flanagan, Doyle and Kear were all exceptional tonight. As was Murphy.

Just back from my usual 80 mile journey but at least tonight I’m glad I went and the lads can all hold their heads up tonight and be proud of that performance.

I thought we showed up well. Effort so much improved and much more desire. It was always likely the full time fitness would tell but I think leigh will be counting themselves lucky tonight. Great game all round today.

With a clear head, it’s probably better for us to exit now rather than take a pasting from kr plus get dragged into pointless 1895 cup games but it’s still disappointing to come away with nothing.

Keep our players fit and on the pitch and Play like that every week and we can beat most in the league but we know how inconsistent we are. It’s the hope that kills you.

Onwards to Workington away…

Very good effort but lacked a bit of composure and class to kill the game off I thought. Competed a lot better than I expected so credit where it is due for a big efffort from the players. Thought the referee did pretty well and it was a lot more enjoyable than a lot of SL games in terms of entertainment value.

As a side note I decided to look for a match report on bbc, sky sports, sportinglife for an idea of attendance. According to those websites the game didn’t even happen, is there really so little interest in our sport?
