Is it fair to compare players to the likes of JP tho? There arent many JPs in a lifetime. We got spoiled during that period we had a truly great team we will probably never see that again for a long time.
Not being as good as JP is acceptable to me but not moving up to meet the opposition isnt. Thursday wasnt acceptable we all know that.

It is fair as we are one of the richest teams in the league too. Not acceptable to have so many average (I’m being generous) players….

It`s a bit like Agar saying we trained well all week and was disappointed we couldn`t put that effort on the pitch. Been saying that for at least 10 years now.
Totally agree with the points regarding Hetherington and the general state of the club. I think Sinfield was frustrated and that played a part in his decision to leave and we have definitely regressed culturally since his departure despite in theory having a better squad. All I hear from Leicester is how much influence he is having on their culture and professionalism. How many jobs is Agar trying to do is he picking up a lot of Hetheringtons role. The rest of the coaching set up is sub standard. Long has brought nothing. Walker looks out of his depth. Rather than a snap decision I would prefer that we get the right man who brings his own team of coaches with him. Sadly get rid of them all but do it sensibly. I wpuld have no issues if Agar moved upstairs into the Hetherington role.
You simply can't compare JP playing in a great team with Prior playing in a poor team. Prior is not the problem - he gives everything.
There is a coaching, tactics, culture, attitude and discipline problem. That's down to the system and the coaching set up.
Having said that, I'm not sure there's much to be gained in sacking Agar now. Who do we bring in? I can't honestly believe we would give it to Long - he's shown nothing as an attacking coach. And as for Walker and JJB.... Maguire would be a better assistant - he comes across well and is a former captain. Trying to get a 'top' Aussie coach would smack of desperation and could end up with another Furner debacle. These changes need planning to be successful. But it does need to be an Aussie I think.
We may as well continue with the current set up and plan for next season. But if we lose to Salford next week, I'm not sure he can carry on.
I'm also not convinced with him moving to DOR tbh. Some of the planning and recruitment decisions are proving to be really poor.

I think we should be looking to bring in Ryan Carr as head coach and Maguire as assistant. Maguire comes across as intelligent and knowledgable about the game - JJB and Walker don't.
Agar to DOR and dispense of the services of JJB, Long and Walker.

I gave him as an example of part of a wider problem, I didn't say he was the problem. I could have picked others just as easily. Bodene and Donaldson give everything. Sometimes it ain't enough.
