The timing couldn’t have been worse for Shaun Wane naming his training squad on the back of him getting 6 assists and a try, in a performance not many are capable of. The problem you have is can he do that consistently, all whilst keeping his nose clean and not falling out with three quarters of the England squad during various games.
If he can then he can’t be denied but it’s a big if. I bet Wane wishes he’d named the squad this week instead. An eyebrow would hardly have been raised in comparison.

Equally, that performance could have come off the back of not being picked and so it did exactly what Wane wanted it to do.

You could be right but Jake needs to show the effort week in week out. If he has the capacity to do this, then with his natural talent, he'll be a shoe in.

30 mins of exactly what Connor needs to show. Some absolute genius is a given but other than that he’s just gone quietly about his business and kept his head down.

The dummy to kick and then stroll over the line was sublime, real quality.

What's funny all that what I said did happen and its a major flaw in Connors game and will be why tompkins and lomax are ahead of him for full back

Sorry I didn't realise you aren't allowed in a squad if their is a better player than you in that position. Tompkins is a better player than Connor, I'm not sure you will get any fans arguing that, but Connor is a fantastic player who can play FB, Centre and halfback to a very good standard, how many other players in SL can play as well as him in those positions.
The fact that Lyne and Sargisonson are in the squad above him, is the reason that Hull fans and fans of other clubs are shocked he isn't in the squad.
A player with his ability, his utility value and the fact he has stepped up (unlike many other supposed better players) internationally are the reasons he should be in the squad. He has his flaws, but who doesn't, I can show you plenty of clips when Tompkins has missed tackles, bad mistakes and mouthed off, but he doesn't get the unfair press that Connor gets.
