2 weeks to further smarten up our play. In particular might be good to get some of the players to do some kicking practice. Not convinced by Situ although he did what he had to do.
Barrow seem to be going very well. I don’t know much about them other than Ritson is very fast, Miloudi is rocks and diamonds and, of course, they have Sammut. Long old trip.

Sammut will destroy us on his own as he always has when playing for the oppo - why did the club ever let him go? Another loss for the Broncos.

The news on the grapevine is Dalton Grant will be available for this game, but Wellington Albert's earliest return is Bradford at home.

Others will have a clearer view of whether that’s an upgrade Smithers.

Albert missed all of last season I believe so it’s getting quite long time since he’s played in anger. One assumes it will take time for him to get up to speed.
I think the squad we had out on Sunday is pretty much our best squad. Injuries are inevitable and it’s to be hoped the younger players will improve with experience but my guess is to get out of the hole we are in we’ll need a couple of extra Championship level players to come in. I suspect that will be doable as there are quite a few players who by May will be wanting an opportunity for regular game time to a sufficient degree to risk the nightmare of living in London for a couple of months as opposed to down the road from their mum.

Appreciate Dalton is unlikely to be part of a competitive Championship team, although he apparently is a great personality and good speaker and sounds like exactly the type of player to be interviewed/interact at the 15th May event I mentioned on another thread a few minutes ago.

Wellington seemed the obvious best player missing from Sunday, one who would be in the best 17. Take your point if he's been out that long, then he may not add much for a while. A guess it's still a positive that he expects to be in contention for a team place within a month.

Unless we can improve on the York performance I would fully expect Sammut to run us ragged, and Barrow to tear us a new one.

I see that Jarrod is still having trouble with his left hand.
Still a one handed Jarrod would make a big difference to our team, at the moment. Why did we let him go ?

Barrow dropped ticket prices to £12.00 for our visit.
Long journey, but a lovely weekend break for those able to take Monday off.
Suspect the wheels will fall off the Barrow Barrow (see what I did there) but not so much as to give us a glimmer of hope.
I'm sticking with Sheffield away as our first win.

Barrow from London by train on match day is always a risk. The train from Lancaster to Barrow often gets cancelled due to lack of staff and a bus replacement takes hours to get to there.
The last time we played at Craven Park, we had to take a taxi at a cost of ninety pounds to get to the game on time.
Too far to drive and with fuel heading towards two pounds a litre not really economic to do so.
Count me out.
