Don't think it is an obsession with Broadbent. Think it is a desire to see the club give young players a chance. Both Briscoe's and Broadbent's contracts expire this year. Briscoe is a known quantity who is approaching the veteran stage. Broadbent has shown flashes of real potential in varying positions, but not had a proper go at centre. Maybe Briscoe is a far better bet, what do I know, I'm only fan? But speaking has a fan I'll be very disappointed if Briscoe is retained and Broadbent leaves. If both go, fair enough, we are obviously in the market for a new centre. However they don't come cheap and I believe home grown talent should always be given a shot. Hopefully he can force is way in before too long.

Not sure it`s an obsession and I don`t think anyone has said he`s a world beater.
With Newman out injured and a straight choice between Briscoe and Broadbent I personally would go for Broadbent as Briscoe certainly isn`t a world beater.
If Broadbent isn`t getting a chance we will never know how good, bad or indifferent he is.

He played well on the wing I'm first half of the Fev game. I think he is at least as good as Briscoe now with obviously massive advantage of playing him now to get games in...he'll just get better and better whilst Briscoe will get slower and slower

I agree.
No point having players with potential if we don`t play them.
Good to see Fev doing well.
I know a Fev friend of mine will be over the moon.

To be honest I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Broadbent at another super league club in the coming weeks.

Favourites to go up ahead of Leigh in my opinion

And he'll put an extra shift in when he plays against us like Gayle used to.......then we'll resign him and he'll be rubbish

Hull have been like us this year very hit & miss not writing them off for this game but with the key personnel missing from their team I think we should have more than enough to turn them over and will be very disappointed if we don't.

Good time to play them I think

Ive been a big fan of Jack Broadbent for a few years in the academy but his performances in the academy in the last 2 weeks dont warrant inclusion in the 1st team squad and yes i understand he got 3 against Bradford but the standard of opposition was very poor and he didnt do enough for me in either game. I really wanted to see him and Corey step up and prove a point and i dont think Jack has. His defensive reads havent been good enough and hes looked down.

Theres a 1st team jersey there, hes capable of beating Briscoe out for it but hes got to fight to win it.
