Just really thought Hodgson got a lot wrong today especially the bench and the poor use of it. We ended up with just Sao & Fash at the end with Satae, Evans & Brown all sat. Thought the non selection of Mitch was another mistake as his defence and strength is much better than Shauls plus think he also has more pace. Our defence and line speed was so slow and lazy today and on a small pitch like Cas it gifted them so much yardage without having to work for it and the amount of off loads we let them make was a joke. In the end Cas could afford to just Chuck it at will as even when if went to ground we had no one to pressure or challenge for the ball. We played panic rugby from the opening score off a huge error and no one on the field took control and calmed things down. I really struggled to work out what the actual game plan was today as we were just so erratic. We allowed Cas to just roll down the pitch at will and didn’t attempt to turn their defence round enough and when we did our chase was pathetic. Even when we managed to start getting out the hole we’d dug for ourselves to get back in the game we switched off at each restart and gifted Cas another score.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
McIntosh likely to still be out on Thursday and also Wynne likely to be out. Wouldn't be surprised if Houghton picks up a ban. We will never get even close to a full strength team this year.

That and Vulikijapani totally omitted, I'm scratching my head. That scoreline shows we were crying our for better defence out wide with many of the trys coming down the flanks.
Fash had a good game. Mitch should have started, Connor was bang average.

Not sure if Connor was 100% fit the amount of work the physio was doing with him long before the rest of the team came out for warm up. Also the fact McNamara was goal kicker and taking some of the kicking duties.

I think like a lot of fans, all the team thought they had to do was turn up. Realistically, most people thought we’ d hammer Cas. This mentality HAS to go. With very little strength in depth it’s going to be a long, hard season. We need to stop bigging up Connor, he was shocking today, albeit not the only one, think it just goes to his head. Griffin is not captain material either.

Sorry but I just don't see it. He tackles and not always successfully as seen against walmsley. The efforts there granted but that doesn't mean a players good enough, he's very restricted, Lovodua has miles more about him, if we have better options use them, instead of leaving them on the bench for long periods.
