I can count on 1 hand the games that have been really enjoyable and that i felt the team played really well. I have little faith therefore that Agars track record will move the team on to compete for the GF this year.

I know, it's just becoming a circular discussion.

Agar is going to move at some point I would suspect this will be his last year has Head Coach, unless we go through a serious losing streak and he loses the dressing room there's nothing to be gained from getting shut now.

It really is just a case of we are where we are at the moment.

I think this team is capable of something this year, we will just have to wait and see.

Fingers crossed! I don't think anyone is disagreeing about not firing Agar now.

I actually like Agar and think he would be great in the director of rugby role. I am really struggling to see what impact Sean Long is having. Our attacking platform lacks structure and basic skills which is his job to lead improvement. Interestingly Leixester Tigers are 16 points clear in the posh boys comp with there new defenxe coach!

Why are people saying it's only been 3 games? He's been here since 2019. For every season we don't get our long-term manager, the rebuild and transition just gets delayed another year. There's only so long that excuse can continue to be used before it's clear we're not in a transition, we're just being terribly managed from the coach to the directors.

A d Since 2019 we’ve gone from being knocked out of the CC by a championship side to winning the CC and getting in the Semi Finals of SL.

The fact is losing the first 3 games of this season has prompted this thread. Sacking him now without a proper replacement could make things worse

Yet it feels like we're miles away from genuinely competing. I'm not entirely sure what style of play we're attempting and working towards under Agar. Are we incrementally improving with the end goal of playing successful, entertaining rugby or are we constantly taking one step forward and then one back in a very mediocre fashion?

I would rather plod along with a coach who has an end goal with how he wants to play, then plod along with Agar going nowhere quickly. I think it's been stated a few times that Agar isn't our long-term guy, and at times hasn't he mentioned not even wanting the job? If so why is he being given so much time and say when it comes to building the team? It feels like we're playing for time in March.

Are there absolutely no coaches available, we can attract?

A lot of questions which none of us can answer

Id suggest he’s been given time because of the work he’s done in the last two years and is well thought of by both the management and players.

We simply don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes regards head coach but I very much suspect this will be Agars ladt year in that role, people are saying hed make an excellent DOR (i agree) so why mess that up by sacking him now, unless there is unrest it will do more harm than good.

The last point's valid, definitely can't sack him unceremoniously if he's going to be DoR. If the plan is for him to go at the end of the year we need to avoid a Lam at Wigan situation, where the players gave up well before the end of the season and Lam couldn't motivate them because he was on his way. One thing I desperately hope we do is go out of our comfort zone and bring in a genuine outsider. No more jobs for the boys nonsense. Go for the best we can get. Tradition and history (and whatever 'DNA' is with a team) are great but don't win trophies.
