I think tonight showed what some pace in the squad can do! That cas team last night seemed very hullish!!

Yeh, surely teams would take advantage of that if not, so why was he played on side, Thaler clearly said he was off side, then now played on side

.... these are the other possibilities, fwiw.

An off side player is placed onside if:

(a) an opponent moves ten metres or more with the ball.
(b) an opponent touches the ball without retaining it.
(c) one of his own team in possession of the ball runs in front of him.
(d) one of his own team kicks or knocks the ball forward and takes up a position in front of him in the field of play.
(e) he retires behind the point where the ball was last touched by one of his own team.

Cheers, so he was off side and dislodged the ball with a knee. Thaler’s useless, takes forever to come up with the wrong decisions!

I was just looking at the rules too

I know that in Union that a player behind the kicker can play other players onside by moving infront of the (offside) player, however that isn’t covered in the League rules above.

Saying that, rule b) may have applied as the Leeds player touched the ball but didn’t retain it.

To be fair to Thaler, the VR soon moved on from the offside to look purely at the grounding of the ball.

Thought Wigan were pretty entertaining again tonight.

However, their Coach is a bundle of laughs. He’s like Shaun Wane, but without the personality!

Wigan looked good last night , Field looks a very exciting player to watch and reminds me of Colin Best a little , no substitution for pace and still missing French . A lot of Cas fans whinging already at their style of play .

Huddersfield's win today tees up a nice early basement battle between Cas (12th) and Rovers (10th)
