Notice how it’s late on Thursday and still no one on our forum is speaking about Sunday’s game. I guess there’s just a weary acceptance we’ll lose and perhaps lose pretty comfortably. Any news on whether any of the missing players are fit again, COVID free, in the country? I assume we wouldn’t start with the same team as against Widnes if we could avoid it.
Any confirmation as to these 3 additional Skolars players that arrived as if by magic in the 20 Man squad for Widnes? Are they on trial or have we really recruited 3 more players from a bottom 2 L1 side? If so: unprecedented surely. Was it really the fault of the other 4 that Skolars did so badly? Skolars must be fuming. 9 players raided really is poor form from all angles.
Quite a few things still unclear off field. What’s the SP on sponsorships. Usually they get some publicity in programmes, in game announcements and score updates online but none of those things happened so that feels like reduced value. Also they aren’t on the website. Any updates on LBOSG. Is that not renewing?, Squad Builder- did that lead anywhere. No criticism seemed a fair idea but where is it at? Programmes, wider range of merch any news? Really feels like we are spread thinly off field as well as on. Probably the result of Reduction in central funding and a couple of difficult years as a result of COVID but it is beginning to be noticeable. Just goes to show how running a club is a big and costly operation. Can it be done with seemingly so few staff- guess we are going to see. Not unreasonably they have focussed on making the launch a success and I think made a decent shout of it with some obvious learning points but it looks quite a full in tray building up to me.

We appointed an inexperienced, part time, lower level coach who probably doesn't have many connections. And then his brother as assistant.who probably doesn't bring much different in terms of knowledge or experience. Not really a surprise that he has raided the club he knows best despite them being a level below (and unfortunately not even good at that level either). It's not likely to work out well for anyone though is it.

I remember 40-20 running the shop from a port-a-cabin at Griffin Park, with volunteers flogging VB's in a bucket and programmes....but then again, nowadays you ned to subscribe to be a devout follower of the monkey and lobster otherwise you're just an "old moaner". Buck'n'Dusty were volunteers too, and the fans arrange their own coach travel to away games once Hughes staff at the time decided it was too hard work to fill a 45 seat coach. Volunteers helped on game day at Griffin Park and The Stoop.......but we were then jettisoned by the african........but now we're not a club...now we are a rich mans folly and as he's paying, it's his to do as he sees fit.
what is clear is that nobody is allowed an opinion that doesn't match Doddery Dave's....he's flushed 60 million (half his/half central funding) down the pan and he's still denying he's got anything wrong.......
Like most, I'm not expecting much from Sunday other than a tonking. If they get within 2 scores will be amazing. Key game is Haven week after, which has to be club focus.
York will be too strong for us, so Haven is the crunch game, if they don't win that we could end up going winless into May. Unlikely I'll even tune into radio for Fax game, much better things to do this Sunday
Well the squad is up on Twitter Siti, Albert and Curran are in - not sure if I wouldn't have kept them back for the Haven game, maybe they'll help keep the scoreline respectable this weekend......................

There’s a bit of a tail to it but it looks a stronger squad. If know what you mean about resting them but I think we need to get as close to our A team playing ASAP so they can begin to be comfortable as a team and, in fairness, no matter what’s said in public they will know themselves last Sunday was not of the standard so I think it is what it is. Agreed if Haven goes badly it could be until Dewsbury at home in May that we see any joy. (Maybe the Eagles away game?) By then we may be in a downward spiral so it is an important game.
I can't see past a 30+ point whipping. Halifax losing to batley wasn't a shock, as I expect both teams to be in the top 6 with widnes and bradford below them, but at the shay, I expect them to be a hard nut to crack even for the top 2......Haven is becoming a key game already

If you had seen Fax's 2nd half display at Batley you wouldn't all be so pessimistic, although there were reasons for that. I would think it will be a scoreline in the region of 30v10 to Fax but it's very early days so who knows? P.S. What's all this talk about Monkey and stuff? It's like reading in Chinese. You all seem very downbeat with the owners of your club. Any road Up The Fax!

I was a bit surprised about your result on Sunday as you seem to have a decent squad. Injuries? Anyway I agree I think it’s Halifax’s to lose. I think we have a better squad this week but I’d think you’ll win by a couple of scores at least. Monkey is one of the the LB back room staff. Some posters on here have issues with him...I’ll leave to them to share if theyre so disposed. It’s a funny old time at Broncos the new stadium move should be platform for a resurgent club but as you will see the squad is thin with 9, yes 9 players recruited from Skolars and another half dozen from other L1 sides - a big ask for them all to step up. I think the management were caught out by how few of the 2021 squad would stay and how difficult to get players on PT from up North. On the plus side we do appear to be the go to for PT Antipodeans. Any way Be lucky!

Last Sunday was a strange one. We had four or five players out but controlled the game for the first 39 minutes going down the hill. Batley got a converted try back on the hooter and the 2nd half was marred by a horrendous injury to Brad Knowles which was followed by two sin bins for us, stupid mistakes and poor discipline from which Batley took full advantage and ran out deserved winners. I expect much better today although the weather up here is horrendous. Up The Fax!
